it's a way different situation if you hook up a 3some from the jump. those usually can work out, with the right kind of chick.
you're going backwards. working a 3some with a girl you had feelings for and were with for years will only confuse things and fuck shit up worse.

agreed, however i want to break up.... she knows this.... but she refuses. unbelievable, even more so is that she has had her fair share of long term relationships before we shacked up, so one would think she wouldn't put up with this shit. really throwing me off

dude she's trying to save the relationship at any cost.
look at it from her POV. she "wasted" 3.5 years on you, expecting marriage at the end of things. in her mind she's taking drastic measures to try and salvage what you guys have.
unless you 2 have a history of bringing other girls into the mix, this shit will be a huuuuuge issue down the line. you're setting yourself up for even more drama.

ok... I skipped the whole reading part, but I broke up with my ex about 3.5yrs ago. lived with her for 6 years and had 2 kids. She's a bigger pain in the arse than ever (take that literally if you want - my new gfs half the size).
All I know is I'm a better person without the ex. I'm having more fun, more sex and laughing a heck of a lot more. And those are the three most important things in life. Oh, and I'm sure as hell sure my kids love me more now even though they see me less.
