Non organic fruits and vegetables actually make me gag. I also have a hard time digesting ground beef which also has pesticides.

i do a weekly seasonal delivery from a co-op, you can select from boxes of varying sizes and it's all local. more expensive than the safeway but certainly cheaper than wholefoods or whatever. lucky to be in northern cal though i guess!

in the big chain grocery stores, there seems to be this stupid effort to make monstrous franken-fruit. sure my apple is the size of my head and a lovely deep red, but it's mealy and flavorless.

If you join a vegbox scheme you get fresh shit every week. You get little choice about what it is but its local and organic.
The prices are pretty reasonable (for the veg) and if you're like me, you'll really get into learning new way to approach the veg they send.
The main thing is everything you eat is in season. So you kind of feel a bit more connected to what's happening outside
In the uk it's worth checking out http://www.rivernene.co.uk/ (not a bad site either)
Fuck I sound like a hippy!
