17 grams of pot

I know nothing about drug measurements so I'm curious how much 17 grams / half an ounce of pot is. A son of one of my mom's friends got arrested for selling that amount to a cop with four witnesses. He's 17 years old. What's he looking at being tried as an adult? I have no idea.

That is a decent mount to get busted for and especially for intent to distribute. Possession alone on that amount is a pretty severe penalty. But you also need to factor in priors and the pot laws of where you live.

and the weird thing is, this happened four months ago. Somehow, he wasn't arrested until this Monday. Hope to have more details on that eventually.

... he was selling though - even if it is a first offense - I'm sure 'dealing' has heavier consequences.
