I sorta see the ignore feature like the secret ballot. I mean the point is I'm tired of the shit talking, and therefore were I just start naming names of all that rub me the wrong way (really there are only 2-3) then that would be sorta self defeating idea.

- yeh who?? are are you ignoring the question because it is us in this thread that you want ignore?e-pill

If we brought the IGNORE back... we could then avoid threads such as...
http://www.qbn.com/topics/572889…
http://www.qbn.com/topics/572998…
http://www.qbn.com/topics/572761…
or the 'hedge' type threads...Basically all those cryptic public voice discussions which you click on and they are the most inane 'look at me aren't I clever' threads...
- those threads are backbone of QBNdrgss

I never used "Ignore" on Newstoday. Part of it was because I didn't want to miss anything. I realize now that it was also because you didn't have to view every post at one time. You could choose what name and post to click on. Some things wouldn't make sense later on (as people responded to the trolls), but things didn't bother me as much. I was against the ignore feature. With QBN, however, I wouldn't mind having that feature back. Maybe it's because I'm older and more irritable? ;)
- ...and irritating...Jaline

- To be honest, it wouldn't matter too much if the feature wasn't implemented. But more people are asking for it.Jaline

i'm plain blessed with the ability to manually ignore and too nosey and curious to purposefully block any information.
and too lazy to petition as well.

The lack of ignore button promotes an inferior level discussion and subsequently a lower quality page.
The lack of this function is very poor design.

Ok, since there seemed to be a lot of people who wanted an ignore function.. I wrote one for Greasemonkey (an add-on for Firefox, which allows you to run local javascripts on websites of others).
At this point you need to manually add the users you want to ignore to the script, but I hope to change that over time..
ok, so how do you get this thing to work?
step 1. open firefox, install greasemonkey, you can download it here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US…step 2. download the script, you can find it here:
http://www.neverblink.nety/files… (remove the .txt from the filename when you've downloaded it)step 3. Open the file and add/manage the usernames you want to ignore. Save.
step 4. Restart Firefox, go to greasemonkey under Extra > Greasemonkey > Manage User Scripts.
step 5. Drag the js-file into the left-field of the dialog that has just opened. And that should be it.
- it will remove any comments by the users you specify in the script (not threads at this point)neverblink
