About twice a year I break out the Wahls clipper and just do a No. 2 all over the head...and then I let it grow back for like four months without doing anything and then repeat...I try to time it so that I have to buzz during major hat wearing weather in the winter and the really hot part of the summer...

I cut my own hair, beard, nose hair, ear hair and those few eyebrow strays that require manscaping. I'm a regular one-man band.
Used to trim my chest hair, but the wife insists it's manlier when the heather starts to curl.

i used to do it and i used to cut other peoples hair too (no prior training LOL) now i pay probably more than i should for a cut. but i have learned my many lessons, oh yes i have.

i had hair almost down to my shoulders 4 years ago. shaved it off one day and have kept it buzzed ever since.

I just started cutting my own hair. usually have my wife tighten up the back of the neck but its pretty easy.

stupid???
I did that from 6th grade to about 3 years ago. Then I grew my hair out super long.... now I'm back to cutting it this way.I'm really good at fading it now, years of practice my friend.

i just do the same length all over. trying to mix a fade in there is asking for trouble.

Just make it look good and you can do whatever you want.
I know too many guys who cut it themselves and it's very noticeable because there are parts that are uneven. My brother can't even cut paper straight with scissors, so I guess I should have predicted a bad outcome, heh.

I cut my own and ask my wife to kinda look over it and fix any discrepancies - she also trims up the back of the neckline.
growing up, my mom was a licensed beautician and we had one of those cool barber chairs in our house, so she always cut my hair.
i've paid for one haircut in my life and didn't much care for it.- It's worth it for some kind of fade or if you need it to look perfect. Otherwise, you could probably do it yourself.Jaline

practice makes perfect, seriously. You just have to fuck up x-amount of times until you get it right. In high school, people started asking me who cut my hair... next thing you know, I was cuttin 15 heads a week in my garage.
until you get good though, be ready to wear some hats or take it down to a 1
- that's exactly how my cousin started. he now owns his own shopbulletfactory
- Makes total sense :)Jaline
- Exactly, by the time I was in high school I was awesome at it.sofakingbanned

I cut others hair too, and then I make wigs for babies

I've been cutting my own hair with clippers for years. Saves money and is cool in the temperature sense. Plus, you'd don't need as much "sham"-poo.

yeah had longish hair for as long as I could remeber till i turned 20, got drunk one night and was badgered into shaving it off.
looked awesome :)

ive been toying with the idea of shaving my head lately too.
i used to give myself skinheads all the time but have had hair long for the past few years.
i'd look forward to the 'not having to "do" hair'
but the idea of a cold head through winter isnt too appealing
maybe il stock up on some cozy hats first hehe.

No way would I ever contemplate doing that.
You know why there are hairdressers and barbers and stylists and colourists and directors?
Because they can do it better than you.

I use a set of Remington clippers, twice a month. Number 1 all over. Saves me a fortune. But I do look like a pikey convict.
Not much on top anyway, so takes about ten minutes.

I've cut my own hair for over 10 years now. I don't trust hair dressers. All hairdressers are in the employment of the government. Hair are your aerials. They pick up signals from the cosmos and transmit them directly into the brain. This is the reason bold-headed men are uptight.
