I play guitar and bass but ive never succumed to the whole "got to have an expensive guitar" and i do believe that a lot of guitarists (and other musicians, photographers etc) reckon that they think the more expensive kit they get, the better it makes them.
So Jose, im sorry your martin means nothing to me - it looks like a standard guitar.
Mr Remote - your one sir, is f*cking astounding. The minimalness of it is beautiful. See, now THAT kind of guitar, something that is unique and hand crafted is worth paying money for.

there is a difference between quality crafted guitars that sound amazing, play incredible and cost $$ than piece of shit guitars that cost $200.

this can't be argued. Shit guitars only work when you need a specific soundVectorMasked - Agreed. I feel for the most part, you get what you pay for.
JackRyan - not to mention that they are investments if you are into collecting too.morilla

I don't think it's so much "got to have an expensive guitar" as a desire to have a guitar that is crafted and not spit out of a machine. No piece of wood is the same. It's amazing what a little adjustment to the thickness of a top or brace can do to bring out the voice of a particular instrument.
I wouldn't say anythingbad about a Martin. (except maybe that new intro line they have). Nice axe Jose.

- i know they probably sound and play fine, i almost feel like it'd be akin to buying the frame and wheels of a carlocustsloth
- I have one. I love it for fun and travel, but for shows I use my Les Pauls.jfletcher
- I always wanted one of those. In red.boobs

I thought MrRemote's looks like a pansy violin.
kon........ If you ever get the chance to play a vintage martin (and lets face it - if I had one - no fucker but ME would touch it) you might change your tune.
I'd guess that the martin HD-28 sounds pretty sweet, but ultimately, when it comes to guitars, they don't just make 'em like they used to.
