If they do not have alot of money for branding then what they company provides needs to be in the name.

Come up with a name. Remove a consonant, add an "a" and your done.

By the way, has anyone noticed how “naming” threads always seem to disappear? Normally it’s after someone suggests a name like “Piss Face and Partners™” or something.

The tried and true approach of having a “computer” generate random 3-letter combinations from which you derive a company name. Many companies have done it including “Elf” I can’t remember what they do – something to do with cars, I think.

that's a damn fine name!

WOW branding. Company's site with a decent portfolio, quite a few stuff and links to read, and they have published books on naming and branding. I myself got "logo Savvy". There they present projects from around the globe and cover things like strategy, naming, etc...

Amicus,
Yeah, i've been trying to wrap my head around it... I don't think the project manager here really understood what was involved when he quoted the project. As far as I know it's the first time they've done something like this so like I said.. i think it's been underestimated.
With the project itself I think we have some very good ideas for the name but they need to be taken to the next level... and unfortunately that requires more time. So yeah, I'm just trying to prepare myself for next time(if there is one) and also trying to educate the heads a little.

d-rek... 20hrs? How are you going to be sure it is unique and trademarkable? Damn man, the last thing you want is the naming equivalent of the Quark logo debacle.
