i have doubts about this.. i think it is fake.
apple would never shoot the macbook with such perspective in relation to the model..
- Never, look at the angles, everything correctShepstar15
- Good call Janne, you might be right. Also I don't think anyone in Cupertino has a hat like that.********

i just got a 17" mbp - so far i absolutely love it - only i need a second power supply to keep with my laptop, so i can leave one plugged in at my office and not crawl under my desk every morning.

17=gluttony
in my opinion of course :)
- the office purchased it for me. i just happen to also use it for freelance and everything else. i lucked out.bulletfactory

is the 17 ungainly?
- i would say so. it's just too damn big. i think once passed the 15" it is no longer a laptop.lvl_13
- I'm going to be using it as my primary workstation. 3d +pshop+after effectsLlyod
- that's all well and fine, but it would be cheaper to buy thye 15 and an external monitor. then you won't sacrifice the "portability" of itlvl_13
- the portability and reason for having a laptop in the first place.lvl_13
- I'll go to an appl estore today and check it outLlyod
- the 17" only feels big for the first few days. my wife's 15" feels small in comparison. just as portable, imoarthur

whomever owes a 17"...is the high def screen worth it?
- i've the glossy, it's quite nice. horrible for smudges though.search
- the light from windows would drive me nutsLlyod
- Reflections have never bothered me, and I always use glossy. Must be lucky with where everything is located.Jaline
- i chose to forgo the glossy - i thought it would be too annoying w/ sunlightbulletfactory
- the glossy wouldn't work for me. the reflection of my beautiful self would render me uselessLlyod

the 17" has the ever so important 1900x1200 res. witch the 15" does not have. thats all there is to it.

I have a 15" mbp. Absolutely love it. Biggest reason for not getting the 17" was needing the extra size. I have a Mac Pro at home with a sick monitor. No need to get a big ass laptop to carry around.
If you don't have a machine now, then 17" is a good choice as long as you have the budget. If otherwise, the 15" will do just fine.

I was in an apple store today. I swear I was asked "can I help you" 10 times. played around with the 17" and 15". I'll probably get the 17" as I'll be using it as my primary machine. Of course I'll use a desktop for rendering because I hear macs can have processor meltdowns and catch fire.
17" owners: is the high def screen worth it? is it only worth it for watching movies?

hey lloyd, yeah, it's worth it. it makes my old monitor look dead.
