no need for the gradients.

prefer the old one

Looks nice and tidy, doesn't seem to be a huge departure from the old site but a nice refresh I think.

I'm sorry but that's just hideous.
Looks sorta amateurish, not thought out and slapped together in a couple of days. Looks sorta uninviting, there's more scrolling than before and good valuable space is wasted on the left and top.The old one was way better in every way.

I totally agree with VectorMasked!!!!!
- of course!
Who wouldn't? ;o)VectorMasked - I hope: no onemoamoa

I preferred the old one too!

I like the addition of the video preview. There's something very idiotic about seeing someone's recording of browsing through a book on your computer before buying it.

I think they should make more use of the screen width.. they should've took the opportunity to improve the menu
plus.. $48 for shipping for 2 books worth $32 to ireland... No Thanks!
- Agreed, the shipping outside US is massive. Almost bought 'Raster Systems' there but way to expensive with shipping.ian
- Ha i was actually thinkin of buying that too!rough
- Yeah the shipping is WRONG puts me off ever buying from there, still a good way to look at potential purchases though!uncle_helv
- heh, agreed uncy helv! Though what i really like it real bookshops, nothing beats browsing in em!ian
- I did buy once and yeah, shipping is a lot.Jaline

not a fan of the old one anyway, looked dated (and I don't mean in style, but more in how it made use of the screen and the functions, its layout seemend crammed in a far too old school way).
This one is kind of naff fotr the reasons stated above but I like the functions added when you're viewing products, those pages are better imo - the home layout and styling and the nav really need sorted out though imho

it just feels like a wordpress theme to me.

plus, it may look new but the content has got stale. they came on the market with some new and exciting stuff (the vectors and fonts) but since then they haven't really kept the momentum.
seems like the theme reskin is just a way of trying to promote new interest in an old horse.
just my 2 cents.

Holy shit, the Wim Crouwel Alphabets book is $75 excluding delivery on that site. I bought it in magma for £24. Thats about $42 dollars, some fuckin markup there!

bullshit... oh no hang-on, that's my tourette's.

so far I never used any 3d buttons, gradients, reflections.. whatever and I will never use it, god I hate it so much.
I would rather risk loosing a client instead of doing 2.0 stuff..
or I would quit my job and going to work in a bar.- I'll give you the freon dream recipehallelujah
- if I could only remember ithallelujah
- hahahah I´ll make it famous, in europemoamoa

not what I expected from this camp.

I may be the only one ... but I like it. The old site was somewhat difficult and clicky. The new site has more focus on the products rather the site design, which is what I want from a store. It is also all PHP/database driven. I think it is clean, effective and easy to navigate. A huge plus in my book and a nice refresh.

looks like UCD got the best of them... ah well, follow the buck...

Not strong. Some of their vector and stock items can be useful when used without garish gradients or 2.0 business, but their collection of typefaces is amateurish at best. And I agree that this "new" site looks like a WP theme.
