I understand alot of the dislike against it, but it is a nice refresh. And even though it might be calmed down and mellow, I think that communicates well with its intended audience and function. It is a store, and the new site navigation is much clearer.

I also love the new lighter atmosphere rather than the older dark theme.

the intended audience?
Aren't we the 'intended audience'? or at least a considerable part of that audience? Some of us don't feel it's good refresh.
The menu is basically the same as before. No improvement here at all.
But at least before, the areas (columns, grids) where better defined with more contrast in between them due to the shades of gray and also coz everything was a bit tighter with less scrolling. The gradients and texture at the top are almost disappearing on some monitors.

I like the simplicity of the site, good overview, easy to browse & find. I don't care if it looks like a WP-theme as long as it does the work.

Well maybe they didn't intended to change all the functions, maybe it was just a change. In my opinion it is simple, to the point that you can't expect more from it, just the pure substance of its on self. There are some website that do required a more serious face lift, however, in this particular case it does serve the purpose.

I really like how the content is organized in this new layout... don't judge the book by it's cover dig in and you'll see when the layout is pumped full of content it's pretty sexy.

wow. Thank god some of you had some constructive feedback. I was wondering if people actually had substance in their "dislike". As mentioned before the focus has been put on the products not their own attention.

It seems they show more than the magazine itself shows on its own website, that says a lot to me. The site design is a little bit more mainstream than my personal taste or how I would design it, but i can look past that and enjoy the much easier to view products.
