$60B waste found in wartime contracts
A nonpartisan panel reporting to Congress says the United States is wasting $12 million a day among contracts issued in support of American efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Commission on Wartime Contracting spent the past three years documenting whether American funding went where it was supposed to. The findings show misdirected money has totaled between $31 billion and $60 billion, and that both the government and the contractors are to blame for fraud and waste.

Jobless Claims Stuck Above 400,000, Productivity Falls
http://blogs.wsj.com/marketbeat/…Stock futures are rallying for some strange reason, though the morning’s plate of economic data was sort of ugly.
Jobless claims came in at 409,000, just a little higher than the 407,000 economists expected. The prior week’s claims were revised up, as they always are, to 421,000 from 417,000. This level of claims is really too high and indicates the job market isn’t healthy, even if it’s not quite on its deathbed.
Second quarter productivity was revised down to a decline of 0.7%, the biggest drop since the fourth quarter of 2008, from a first reading of -0.3%. It has fallen for two quarters in a row, for the first time since the end of 2008.

^^ classic comment: "sadly we send our men and women, fathers, sons, daughters and mothers to defend other nations and their borders, yet we won't even defend our very own. WE say our country is financially broke yet we give 50 Billion away to 192 countries, EVERY Year. Look at cities with high crime, high drug use, high illegal population, high HIV and murder rate and so on. those are run by liberals, America's downfall is embracing liberalism and multi culturalism."
- god forbid we embrace other cultureslocustsloth
- We give $10 billion a year to Israel, that is $1600 per citizen. But you love Israel.DrBombay
- yeah because multi-culturalism is so unamerican and obviously sole reason for gun crimes and drug abuse********

"...the incoming Obama administration changed virtually nothing with respect to existing CIA programs and operations. Things continued. Authorities were continued that were originally granted by President Bush beginning shortly after 9/11. Those were all picked up, reviewed and endorsed by the Obama administration."
http://www.salon.com/news/opinio…
See, this is what I don't get. Obama is for all intents and purposes Bush II 2.0. The major outlines of his policies are either Bushes (the bank bailouts, the ongoing middle east wars) or other Republican plans (the health care overhaul was a Republican plan from the 90's that was the alternative to a democratic universal healthcare stance). The major players stayed in place, or replaced by philosophically likewise players (Gates, Geinther for e.g.)...
Yet...yet...suddenly he was this anti-american commie socialist. When the major outlines of what his administration differed about zero from what Bush was doing. And Bush was apple pie fucking America fuck yeah. And all of a sudden you get these rabid, foaming nitwits like popfodders who seemingly have nothign better to do then wave ill-spelled signs at political rallies, yell inanities about something-something America taxes something or post endless streams of crap on internet forums like this.
So where you folks just not paying attention to policy outlines and then suddenly got pissed off that a black dude got elected? Or that a democrat got elected? Where you just handed a copy of photoshop, Atlas Shrugs and pointed at the internet and then patted on the head like a good little canon fodder serf?
- According to Dick Cheney's new memoir, even the bailout of GM was a Bush Admin idea.IRNlun6
- There you go. Of course the Republicans call Obama a communist bc of that oneTheBlueOne

Case in point. Republican's shouted "Drill baby drill!" and well, wow, look at that..under Obama more US based wells have been drilled than ever before, via that infamous hippy rag the Wall Street Journal:
http://blogs.wsj.com/economics/2…
But popfodders will post some inconsequential bit piece about some solar company going bankrupt for despite a few million in fed funding, but the oil industry is raking in tens of billions tapping domestic resources under Obama. And useless idiots like popfodder in all ignorance of reality somehow equates "million dollars in funding for solar = billions profit for old school energy industry" and somehow thinks Obama is some sort of enviro hippy.

I'm sorry if writing complete sentences and making points somehow disrupts your thinking process. Please continue with posting pictures of minorities and people who may be related to Obama, fox news links and writing in your creepy self-congratulatory "HAHA..LOOK AT THE LIBTARDS!" outside voice.

You're right. Bush didn't live up to his campaign promises of 2000. He had a platform of limited government and a non-interventionist foreign policy. People should have figured out that he had lied or changed his mind by the time he was up for re-election.
Obama has done nothing but carry on (and progress) Bush policy. He reauthorized the PATRIOT Act, raised the debt ceiling, continued fighting unconstitutional wars and started fighting a new war without congressional approval.
All of these are things that Obama has at one time stated that he opposed. In my opinion, he is George W Bush II.
(also note that the Tea Party was the only voice in Congress to oppose the PATRIOT Act)
- I believe there were some progressive voices in congress against the Patriot Act as wellTheBlueOne

Actually a lot of people (mainly Republicans) supported Bush because of the Iraq War, not in spite of it. They were also in favor of the PATRIOT act (expanding government power) and torturing suspected terrorists. Those were slight majority opinions, and like 90% majority among Republicans.
Let's not try to gloss over people's support of Bush. The American voters deserve all the blame they can get.

In a sign of his frustration at the investigations into his alleged crimes and misdemeanours, Silvio Berlusconi vowed in July to leave Italy, which he described as a "shitty country" that "sickened" him.
The Italian prime minister's astonishing remarks are contained in the transcript of a telephone conversation secretly recorded by police investigating claims he was being blackmailed about his sex life."They can put listening devices where they like. They can tap my telephone calls. I don't give a fuck. I ... In a few months, I'm getting out to mind my own fucking business, from somewhere else, and so I'm leaving this shitty country of which I'm sickened."
