Blueone. For you buddy.
"Giffords has represented Arizona's 8th Congressional district since 2007 and is a member of the Blue Dog Coalition of conservative Democrats. She narrowly defeated tea party-backed Republican Jesse Kelly to win a third House term in November."

Your ignorant statements have to stop.
- Conservative Democrat. I bet that makes your blood boil.********

"A gunman ran up to Giffords, 40, and shot her in the head as she addressed supporters outside a Safeway grocery store, according to media reports..."
effing insane.

Doesn't mean shit though since Democrats in those conservative parts of the country are the ones who get threatened. And apparently her office was vandalized, front door smashed in by some right wing idiots about a year ago.

But to be fair there's no info on the shooter yet and nothing to suggest it was political.

man some people jump a bit to blind hate without any real info here. blues like everin budy go n get yur nooses we being looking for a nigga to hang. only a nigga culd uh killn a white man. you sound as bad as the worst teabagger talkin bout democrats
- what the fuck are you talking about?locustsloth
- thought it was obvious. no need to jump to conclusions and hate a whole demo with no info.********
- its like the mentality of ignorant lynching parties. a white person dies good time to let that hate out********
- Sure deathboy, we shouldn't be jumping to conclusions but you can't really deny why people would make this connection.IRNlun6
- oh yea im not denying its connection. nor the political motives too push this connection without evidence********
- jsut scary how quickly people choose to push the idea. remmebr blink182 adams song and a suicide?********
- IMO, not political motivation causing individuals to make the associate. It's fear that the rhetoric is being realized.IRNlun6
- change the theme to marilyn manson said to do it in a song and see what type of ignorant people react********
- hmm fear is a nasty thing. are u scared or you think ppl posting are afraid?********
- A little of both honestly. It's a scary thing when a public official is murdered in public like that.IRNlun6
- Although the gunman may or may not be tied to a larger group, it's doubtful that this wasn't politically motivated in one way or another.IRNlun6
- ... one way or another.IRNlun6
- yea cant argue about political motive. but not scary. if we want theories i suggest a jodie fost kind of killer********

- ha the icons are targets used as indicators. first time ive ever seen that sort of hyperbole********
- You're just being intellectually dishonest deathboy if you think crosshairs aren't widely associated with firearms.IRNlun6
- no i get it. look ate the movement and its branding with firearms to resemble founders. but its used as hyperbole********
- hyperbole
********
- Sure, I would agree that it's not Mrs. Palin's intention to actually murder these people, but it's a dangerous game to play in this country.IRNlun6
- ... country.IRNlun6
- Hmm. Thing could be difference in fear mechanism. i get scared when people say to give up liberty or burn in a lake of fire/dire of disease. more so********
- of fire/disease/terrori... Then the notion a rebellion is a foot. The rebellion idea is absurd though so no fear there********
- jsut marketing to evoke emotions to sway people.********
- Not speaking for everyone but fear for a nation wide rebellion is not why some are accusing a tea partier or conservative was involved.IRNlun6
- ... involved. It's the virulent rhetoric inspiring some nut job, or militant group taking actions like we saw today.IRNlun6
- oh... yea i guess i jsut don't get the fear then. nutjobs will always find a rhetoric.********
- and looks like the guy was just a nutjob. even if obama inspired him. the left isnt to blame. jsut the dude********
- Sure, but that's why this type of rhetoric is so irresponsible. Has the potential to inspire and/or cause people to blame Conservatives for these types of actions.IRNlun6
- ... conservatives for these types of actions.IRNlun6
- yea its not tasteful for sure. im not a fan of any peddling of emotions. be it cancer kids to bullseyes********

This guy on Forbes website has some surprisingly rational, non-partisan discussion on health care reform.
http://blogs.forbes.com/rickunga…
In this article for instance he considers the GOP plan that they would like to replace Obama's health care law with (yes, turns out GOP actually has a plan). Which is to create government funded "high risk insurance pools."
They would take the high risk people the insurance people don't want and instead of trying to change the whole system like Obama does, they simply fund their insurance through tax dollars. So wait a sec, where's the "free market" alternative we've been told exists?
I find it fascinating that all these people on the right have morphed into these crusaders against "collectivism" (ironically, they all developed these views more or less simultaneously which is collective thinking at its worst:) and are convinced a free market approach will solve every problem.
But then when it comes time to actually present a workable idea (i.e., that when you actually crunch the numbers has some chance of working), what do they offer? A f'ckin welfare program:)
- I was at walmart yesterday and some chic on an iphone was asking if they had any welfare********
- money left on their WIC card. I have a video of her but I am not even going to post it.********
- PS. There is nothing wrong with personal responsibility.********
- See this is where you start throwing out the meaningless generalizations.********
- Personality responsibility good! Government bad!********
- Too bad the GOP policy doesn't actually reflect any of this. It's just marketing they put out there that you and every other right winger followed in sheeplike fashion********
- other right winger followed in sheeplike fashion********
- I mean, not to pick on you in particular, but its just so lame and predictable********
- And just read the comments to that Forbes blog and you'll see what I mean********
- Ive never thought of reps to oppose collectivism. if they did their religion base would be bummed********

The motives of Loughner — an English grammar-obsessed Army reject — remain murky, but in the weeks before his apparent outburst, he took to the Web to rail against brainwashing by government officials and “mind-control methods.”
A MySpace page, believed to be Loughner’s, was taken down by law enforcement officials minutes after the suspect was named. It included a “Goodbye friends,” sign-off, with the message, “Please don’t be mad at me.”
A series of rambling and jarring videos posted on his personal Web site under the handle “Classitup10,” paint the portrait of a searching conspiracy theorist fixated on the American flag, perversion of the Constitution and “illiterate” people living in Arizona’s 8th District, which Giffords represents.
A seven-minute video, “America; Your Last Memory is a Terrorist” filmed in a desert mesa, that features a robed figure wearing what a skeleton mask — perhaps Loughner — who approaches a tattered American flag, jammed between rocks.
A bubble pops up on the screen – “Notice I have only my right arm” – against the pounding song, “Let the Bodies Hit the Floor” by the punk band Drowning Pool.
“The majority of the citizens in the United States of America have never read the United States of America’s Constitution. You don’t have to accept the federalists’ laws,” says a video entitled “introduction,” posted on Dec. 15.
In the Dec. 15 video, Loughner writes: “The government is [applying] implying mind control and brainwash on the people by controlling grammar,” and urges viewers to “read the United States of America’s Constitution to apprehend all of the current treasonous laws.”

Giffords talking about Sarah Palin and her office being attacked earlier this year.
- randommail0
Sarah Palin, Glen Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly et al., all have Congresswoman Giffords' blood on their hands especially Palin! You CANNOT make irresponsible statements like "don't retreat, reload" or "I've got those liberals in my crosshairs" "take aim at Gifford" post "target maps" on her website and then try to... shed responsibility when something like this happens! This is a moment for all of us to reflect on how words matter! How words can kill. How hate is a cancer.

Im sure the popular opinion would be to say im an asshole when i suggest what im going to. Does anyone really care she was shot or a 9 yr old girl was killed, or the other ppl? To those close i can sympathize and it sucks. But to the general populace should it really matter anymore then the kids getting killed in the congo or wherever everyday. To really care is a pretty hard thing to do. If one truly does care enough to a name being crossed off well then i feel sorry for them. because they must be filled with suffering and pain at such loss of life on a daily basis. People really need to keep there heads. So the media/politics cant play them for fools. If you do care so much ask yourself why? Maybe im just a cold bastard or im just honest, but seems unnatural or a lie to really give a shit.
- kills time and provides entertainment talking about it so i guess it has that.need soemthign to BS about.********
- Obviously its not the same as if you knew the person. Can you sympathize upon hearing about it? Most people can.********
- But seems to me there is another aspect to this, we're talking about a Congresswoman being gunned down for political reasons. This is not how democracy is supposed to work.********
- down for political reasons. This is not how democracy is supposed to work.********
- just a politcian. and motives are still out. thinking jsut a disturbed kid who didnt liek his previous meeting with her********
- What do you mean just a politician? Arizona people elected her to represent them after a lost and expensive election. Now unless she recovers enough to perform her job that choice has been taken away from them. Its very typical of fascist countries this type of behavior, ignore democracy and kill off the opposition.********
