They call them elitists, as if it's a bad thing.
I WANT my president to be fucking ELITE.

Let's face it, at least as much blame goes to the moderate or left-wing people who sat this one out because Obama didn't do whatever they fuck it was they had in mind. If they had just turned out at 2008 levels, this wouldn't have happened.
What they don't get is that in the big picture, Democrats couldn't give a shit about your non-vote protest. Those who are voted out will just go on to lucrative lobbying careers or write a fucking book or something.
On the other hand, the other party, could easily get in and pass all kinds of shit that will have a lasting negative impact on everyone's life. Just look at how much damage Bush single-handedly did.

Time to give up on this country? It's populated with way too many idiots, and they all breed much faster than the educated.

I guess another problem is that people don't really pay attention to the issues much. They just vote based on some vague notion that "the government is spending too much" or whatever. Well, hey, Democrats didn't work, maybe tham Republicans will done fix it!
Problem is, American politics (and especially Republican) are corrupt enough that you can pretty much judge what will and won't pass based on what's good for big corporations and/or rich people.
Therefore, my predictions (feel free to check back in 2 years):
-Government spending - won't get reduced, not in any meaningful way. There's no special interest that stands to gain from cutting spending. Duh.
-Health care law - won't get repealed. The health care industry LIKES having a law that requires everyone to buy health care. Republicans will focus on weakening the requirements on business to offer health care, which means you'll be responsible for buying it yourself.
-Bush tax cuts - will get extended, either for 4 years or permanently. This is one that most people like cause obviously no one wants to pay taxes. Unfortunately, since they were never paid for with spending cuts, it will have the effect of increasing the national debt by $4 trillion every ten years.
-Social Security - this is the big project Republicans are after the same way Democrats were after health care. Wall Street really wants to privatize Social Security so they can "securitize" it the same way they did with mortgages. Bush tried this and failed, but Republicans have kept pushing this idea despite the unpopularity. Current proposal by Republicans is to cut benefits by around 50%, so it's not a trivial thing.
Of course the other big item will be to investigate Obama, to have something to pin on him, the same way they did Clinton. The idea is simply to spend time digging up dirt so Romney (who is the chosen candidate of the Koch brothers and other major donors) stands a chance despite his basic unlikeability.
- yeah, they'll just spend shitloads more on military spendingjaylarson

"Let the subpoenas begin. Expect a wave of investigations targeting the Obama White House. Benjamin Sarlin looks at the likely probes, from the BP spill to the Sestak deal."

C'mon GOP, really? Where do we begin with subpoenas and investigations of the "Grand Old Party....? Should we start with the millions of people who lost their jobs before Obama was even elected to office, how about WMD's, or maybe we go way back to Bush Sr. and discuss the Gulf? Have we won the war yet on terrorism?
- You're living in the past. Or at least that's what they'd tell you...TheBlueOne

That crying dude will be you Tea Party suckers in about two months.
"Oh, but wait, I'm against the bailouts". Yeah, then good job voting for the party that created them.
"Oh, but wait, I'm against corrupt bank practices". Well, maybe you should have thought of that before you voted for the party that allowed them from 2000-2008, fought against every reform from 2008-2010 and now plans to scrap all the reforms that did get through.
Of course, they'll be going after the black guy, so you're probably down with that.
- nope in 2 months that crying dude will still be cartman.honestly

I can't wait until they all have to vote to raise the debt ceiling in 2011. I hope the media makes a spectacle of it.

So what do you guys (honestly and cnaps and whoever else) expect Republicans to accomplish?
I mean you must have your reasons for voting these guys into office just two years after Bush stepped down, so let's hear them.

You mentioned Gary Johnson as a Presidential candidate, so I'm assuming you know about politics. Most people wouldn't know who that is.
