This is just a symbolic victory for you retrograde fucktards. Doesn't seem like radical anythign.
Except forcing insurers to insure those already sick - which i'm guessing covers most of the 35million uninsurables? Or is that a misreading.
I mean in reality, universal healthcare has been going on "piece meal" in that country for a 100 years - pushed forward by Republicans AND Democrats.
This just seems more piece mealness. Keep your knickers on.

"I don't give a fuck what you propaganda says you frag (french fag), but keep it up you fool (french tool)."
Wow, you totally dominated that argument right there! But hey, who needs facts when you have HATE?

Results Are All That Matter
Today, when David Frum wrote that this was turning out to be the GOP's Waterloo, he had two interlocking points -- one focused on policy, another political.
The US has had several runs with major pieces of social legislation. And the record is that they don't get repealed. They're expanded and become embedded in the national political economy. That was what was at the heart of Bill Kristol's famous (or infamous) memo on reform from 1994. Once Health Care reform is passed; the middle class will like it. And there will be no repealing or doing away with it. And its success would create a new generation of Democrats. That was his fear.
To that end, Frum's policy point was, who cares if the Republicans take back Congress? Majorities come and go. But reform is permanent. For conservatives it's a catastrophic development and if they'd actually been part of the dialog they probably could have gotten a bill much more to their liking. The second point is political, though he's less clear in this case. Republicans, he says, are probably overestimating their chances this fall in any case.
I'm far from wanting to hazard a prediction. But I've thought for a while that this is right. Seven months is always a long time in politics. But this seven months particularly could be very long indeed.
- Exactly, most conservatives are probably going to end up liking it and go back to bitching about taxes and abortion.Mimio

so from what I have read so far
if you have insurance , nothing happens you will pay the same if not even more after 2013 when 40 percent tax on the excess premiums kicks in, other than no more life time caps ,
if you can't get insurance due to pre existing condition you can get a "high risk plan" or hope your condition holds up till 2014 when all plans must drop the pre existing condition clause
everyone must be covered or face a fine(tax) of 1% of income or $95 the first year and goes up from there
creates state run insurance exchange where you can shop around for subsidized plans ,
in short a win for the Health Insurance Industry , take away some of the restrictions they put in place to maximize profits , but in return they get to go after every single American and get paid by Uncle Sam for doing so , how nice

You people are fucking infants. This legislation will be shaped, over the years, into a more robust program. To think we would get universal healthcare over night is naive as fuck.
- why we go to War over nightBattleAxe
- Seems you have unrealistic expectations.DrBombay
- we both know Uni HC has been kicked around for ever not an overnight ideaBattleAxe
- War is reactionary, that's why it can happen over night. HCR requires some semblance of empathy, thus no conservatives support it.BRNK
- support it.BRNK

FUCKING INFANTS. FUCK YOU!! YOU'RE AN INFANT.
My word, one day in this thread, and i've already got the hang of the level of political discourse on QBN
*pops collar*
- Kuz, did you think we would have universal healthcare over night?DrBombay
- Or did you think that it would be gradual steps?DrBombay
- I would think that it would be gradual steps that would take another 57.5 years.Khurram
- And by "universal health" i'm talking about getting private insurers the fuck out of the system at the first point of serviceKhurram

Has anyone seen Precious?
I saw it on my flight to New York last week. Pretty shit film.
But she wuz a crack baby raped and abused from the age of 3 and she had babies in her kitchen and nobody knowed that they existed.
Made me fink about all this stuff with social care
- BonSeff0
why did we go to war overnight?
2 reasons, revenge and greed.
revenge for 911 & the attempted assassination on George Bush Sr.
Since Al Qaeda isn't aligned to any particular state or country, and Cheney's haliburton interests were ripe for deploying, it was a quick win. American ideology is that we can not be fucked with, and we would of course retaliate. IMHO, Bin Laden knew this and we fell for it, hook, line and sinker. And of course we are stuck there and have borrowed and begged from China and Japan to fund our war. But hey, no biggie, right? we haven't seen a tax increase to fund it, so what is the big deal? //

I mean how could the school had found to take her out of her class and put her in a leg-up programme, where her special needs teacher could help set her up in her own social housing outta the reach of her momma and rapist daddy, and how could the social worker had found that her babies were from daddy rapes if she hadn't of aksed her them questions when she was registering for child support and how could she have gotten away from her mom and then how is she going to pay for her treatment for HIV and for her baby she got from her daddy?
its fucked.
- of course thats just a movie and shit like that NEVER happens in real life, in Harlem or Baltimore like the wireKhurram

Secret service has to be working overtime after this decision. Especially with the anti-abortion slant the conservatives vehemently pushes in the last minutes. Someone screaming "baby killer" at Stupak I fear could be just the beginning.
Now that the so called 'fringe elements' in the tea party groups are backed into a corner they are especially dangerous.
On a side note: people continue to claim this 'frindge' element in the tea part groups don't represent the overall movement. Why is it then that this element seems to be present at every tea party march? Doesn't seem like they are necessarily discouraged from attending.
- I am sorry you still watch MSNBC. I will pray for you. Wouldn't it be nice if you actually had your own thoughts?********
- IRNLun6 - u need to put a note next to every post you make like FredMcWoozy or he will make you look badKhurram
- Ok, so you disagree or are you pretending to be naive?IRNlun6
- haha how do you know what 'seems to be present at every tea party march'?? Int3rw3b pictures?mathinc
- Well, when there are only 200 people are there and 20 of them are nuts, that is a good indicatorDrBombay
- Why don't you describe the feeling of the sand between your toes on Mars then, you have about as much experience with that scenario.mathinc
- that scenario as the one you're supporting here. I've been to one of these tea party rallies and it was tamer than a fucking knitting party.mathinc
- I don't deny corp media could be glorifying but the tea partiers don't make much effort to disassociate.IRNlun6
- party. Seriously your imaginary rally is so much more exciting than reality.mathinc
- You guys should all just go stroll through one of these things. I've only been to one so I don't pretend to say that they're all the same butmathinc
- same but seriously it was just a bunch of conservatives holding signs and getting people to honk. Didn't see any guns, fights.mathinc
- I hope you're right.IRNlun6
- I am sorry you still watch MSNBC. I will pray for you. Wouldn't it be nice if you actually had your own thoughts?

Anyone that is support of Healthcare I am laughing at right now.
You won't see any benefits for atleast 3 years
You will be forced to buy insurance or pay a steep fine
IRS will access your checking account
Tax dollars will fund abortions and live birth abortions
Care will be sacraficed for the common man
You will be implanted with a chip
You will be fined $ for lifestyle choices
You will lose all freedom of choice.
And insurance costs are going to rise.
Great job winners! I am glad you people are so astute on history and replacing GOD with your TV.
- Khurram0
^That's fucking brilliant that is. You should write for some sort of publication.

Democrats now readily admit that Medicare is full of waste, fraud and abuse, but they want us to believe they can run an even larger venture without throwing additional money away. Amazing!BO again claimed in Saturday remarks to the House Democratic caucus that the bill will reduce the deficit by $1.3 trillion. He must know that isn’t true because the money “saved” from Medicare cuts will go to pay for new spending. Only in Washington can you save money and spend money at the same time.
The cost of insurance in Massachusetts is the highest in the nation. Double-digit rate increases are expected again this year. Yet, President Obama claimed Saturday that under the Democrats’ plan, rates will go down. How is this possible? If Massachusetts can’t run a cost-effective health program, how can the federal government? And by the way, the only reason Massachusetts has not gone broke (but is headed there) is because Washington has conducted large transfusions of cash because it has a vested interest in protecting the illusion of Massachusetts’ success.
