There is nothing inherently wrong with this. Either what they are saying is true or it's not. I trust college students to read it if they wish, and come to their own educated conclusion. No harm done. If Christianity is as much crap as you say it is, surely no educated college student would be fooled by this propaganda right? That is...if it really is a fraud of a religion.

In the Bible... the stories of the Old Testament definitely show favoritism toward one group of people (specifically those damned jews)... but then they killed Jesus... but waaaaay back before that was this one guy named Abraham in which all three religions who think 'they're right' got their start from...
... they've 'swapped land' for thousands of years - primarily with force and always screaming 'God has our back'...
... this is why I laugh every time I hear some religious American try and back ANY reasoning for having any religious CRAP in school or in public shit or on public shit (In God We Trust... etc)...
... leave that stuff at home - let Mom and Dad handle that shit... and teach some ACCURATE HISTORY about religion... origins... reasons...

And btw, everyone in here seems to be completely side tracked as not once did I bring up religion in school. The discussion was around freedom of religion and handing out Christian material on college campuses! I think some of you just like to argue about religion and completely ignore what was actually said.

I think it depends what school we're talking about. If it's a private school, it should be up to the school on an individual basis. If it's a public school, it seems strange to be giving out altered versions of science books that give people the wrong idea.

That's why I said "There is nothing inherently wrong with this". Personally I would probably not do something like this, but I'm not going to condemn someone else for it. At the end of the day, the choice to read it or not read it is still up to the individual person.
Plus what would be the alternative? You guys want to limit freedoms because in this scenario you don't agree with the content?

... but never once has my study of the Old and New Testaments taught me that one specific land mass 'belongs' to one specific group of people... paying attention to the Old Testament... you've have found that the Jews screwed themselves over and over AND OVER again... often misrepresenting God w/their own selfish intentions - thus they 'wandered in wilderness' in punishment for all those years etc etc...... you gotta read the whole deal - God doesn't hold one Nation over another... according to the Bible - he created all humans... etc etc - the idea that God has one specific group of human's back at all times is ridiculous... again - look to the Jews in the Bible. ;)

I hear you about freedom of speech but I would draw the line at stuff that messes with the same issues the students are trying to learn in class - that's what they're there for, right? If people want their kids to get a religious education, send them to a religious school.
