Texan Congressman questioning the Energy Secretary about global warming.

I was going to post something similar to this yesterday.
http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com…
"Last week, conservatives were complaining Obama was establishing a socialistic fascist dictatorship.
This week, conservatives are complaining Obama does not want to torture his opponents."

^ Even worse when you read up on who the guy is...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe…
"Former Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, primary House author of the Energy Policy Act of 2005, and chairman of the House-Senate energy conference committee."
So basically, this guy has been setting energy policy for the U.S. for the past decade or so.
- TheBlueOne0
I don't understand, how was the guy's answer wrong?
- BonSeff0
no the answer is just perfect - it's the congressmans question that is fucking amazing - especially when the dude has an engineering degree from a&m.. plus he doesnt believe in global warming..
i wonder if he knows where babies come from
- ukit0
Even sadder - the Congressman himself was the one who posted the YouTube video.
"I seemed to have baffled the Energy Sec with basic question - Where does oil come from? Check out the video:"
- I want to know where the Rep. thinks the oil came from then..TheBlueOne
- TheBlueOne0
He's very proud of himself. He even twittered about it:
- lowimpakt0
well that made me laugh...

It's actually not that funny...read the Wiki page on this guy...amazing
"As a powerful chairman with primary responsibility over the energy sector, Barton has consistently acted over the years to prevent congressional action on global warming. In 2001, Barton declared, "as long as I am chairman, [regulating global warming pollution] is off the table indefinitely. I don't want there to be any uncertainty about that."
"On September 26, 2005, Barton introduced the Gasoline for America's Security Act of 2005 to the House of Representatives in what he said was a response to the present energy crisis. The most significant part of the bill gave the authority for the government to subsidize the construction of new refineries for petrochemical companies, despite the fact that the oil companies had intentionally been closing down refineries for years prior to the hurricanes. "
So our tax dollars are going to pay for Exxon, Shell, etc. to build new oil refineries thanks to this guy, at the same time that they are reporting the largest corporate profits in the history of the world.
"In Fall 2006, Barton refused to release the Combating Autism Act from House subcommittee despite the unanimous passage by Senate. In response, radio personality Don Imus, who was one of the Act's highest-profile supporters, called Barton a "congressional dirtbag." Barton advocated a similar bill which did not provide the same funding for research into environmental causes."
"According to opensecrets.org, a watchdog group that monitors monetary contributions to politicians, Barton alone has received close to $2 million in campaign contributions from energy companies and their political action committees since he has been in office. The oil and gas industry has been the top industry contributor to his campaign. "
"The Barton Family Foundation was established to support charities within the congressman's district. His daughter-in-law, Amy Barton, is the Foundation's Executive Director. Major energy corporations, such as the Chicago-based nuclear engergy producer, Exelon Corporation, make major gifts to the Foundation. In June 2008, at at time when Barton had introduced legislation to assist corporations with the recycling of spent nuclear fuel, the corporation donated $25,000 to the Foundation. Exelon has also donated $80,000 to Barton's campaign funds."

Oh yes!
Nancy Pelosi just proclaimed in an adamant way, on live video, that she NEVER KNEW, was NEVER "TOLD" and otherwise HAD NO KNOWLEDGE WHATSOEVER, that "water-boarding" was EVER, I repeat, EVER to be (actually) used in the field... OUCH!!!
So, it IS officially "ON", and someone IS lying (Pelosi is either lying, or utterly incompetent) about this... and someone WILL be exposed— and it's SPINNING OUT OF CONTROL, while still developing as I write this post.
Stay tuned.

America War on Terror 3 : Pakistani Front
so if the war on terror just going to keep moving to the next hotspot for Islamic militias ? I mean seriously wtf , Obama in his campaign said he would have no problem going into Pakistan , what are we hoping to accomplish differently from say the past 7+ years in that theater

I quote the first comment
"WE ARE SOOOOO.OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... FUCKED/"We're not convinced that insiders are really the smart money everyone assumes them to be. But either way, they're sending one message: head for the door!
Rather than take advantage of stock prices that are still at historically low valuations, insiders are taking advantage of the aggressive run up in stocks and cashing out.

fuckn bitches!! they are going to crash it!
