Man some of you just don't get it. The protesters just 'don't want to pay for shit'...'they're all redneck hillbillies'...'taxes are the cornerstone of democracy'. What world do you all live in? Taxes are the cornerstone of Democracy?!? Maybe some of you are just complete fucking losers who don't pay 30% of your total income. I do. But maybe you don't...and you're fine with the 250k + earners paying much larger percentages than you do, since you're now getting back what, $13 a week or something? What a stimulus! You know that this is actually how our current form of taxation was presented to us citizens in the first place... only the very well off would pay ANY taxes. Now who pays taxes? All of us except for the very poorest of the poor. Wake the fuck up. When they start spending our money responsibly then I'm all for some taxes. But they don't. They haven't. Sure let's argue about what taxes do, infrastructure, schools, military ... all of which have monstrously been failures. But let's pay more. Taxes are the corner stone of Democracy, they weren't for some 130 years, you know, after we democratized and shit.
I guess you all like the fact that our government can basically take whatever they want and pay for things like wars. haha. Yeah taxes are the cornerstone of a democracy. We're just modern serfs who are 'allowed' currently to do whatever we want with our remaining 70%, oh wait, no sorry, if you own a house you've got property taxes...a car, sales taxes even if you buy it used and the person who bought it new paid sales taxes on it already. You may fall for your party rhetoric that this is 'Socialism' or that 'Republicans just don't want to pay for stuff' but those are only the talking points in your party handbooks. Your CNN's tell you that the people who attended were 'Extremists' Your Fox news tells you they were 'Great Americans.' And you believe their snapshot of an opinion. Get off it. See the issues for the issues. Or no, let's just keep going round and round with the he said she said game. Fox is worse, no MSNBC is worse... Republicans are hillbillies, Democrats are hippy losers who milk the system. How's the feeling of being a rat on a wheel. Keep playing the game, gives them ratings and you a sense of having a team. Safety in numbers. You know that Republicans who watch Fox justify the validity of their channel based on the fact that it has the highest ratings. Who pays 70% in taxes? I am all for making government more efficient and save money but the irony of these protests is that taxes are close to an all time low.

^ Agreed. It's so silly that this thing has been so partisaned. Here we've got people who actually attended these protests. Who, with a first hand account have said that it was a positive thing and not overly Republican themed. Yet their news sources spin it as a Extremist event, and they fucking believe it. Sad. If anything this should shed some light on the twisted motives behind media, on both sides. Sheep. Pure sheep. I guess with some people, rhetoric is good since there is no way they'd ever form an opinion of their own otherwise.

Another thing that I think most people don't realize....when inflation sky-rockets everyone essentially pays a 'hidden tax'. So when Obama claims that he's going to give everyone making under 250k a tax break, that doesn't mean shit. He is spending trillions we don't have, where do you think it's going to come from? When you have to spend 2-3 times as much for the shit that you need everyday to survive due to inflation sky-rocketing....that's where.

So true. The funny part is that basically the people the inflation 'tax' hits are the people lower on the food chain, us. The corporations get it at 1:1 ratio, we won't. sweden doesn't pay 70% tax. some pay up to 60% but this is a progressive tax scale.
but why are they no.4 on the global competitiveness index?... with better healthcare, social care, child care, education, low inflation, high creativity/innovation than most countries.

what kind of question is this really? it's pretty vague.
I would rather give my money to a department of health to spend on my free health care than give money to you or a profit driven company. I am happy to have some of my money being used to support those more needy than me i.e. the poor, unemployed etc. this is a social contract I am happy with.
I would rather give money to a department of education to build schools and colleges so that we can have educated people than have you or a profit driven busniess educating people. I am happy if my money is used to educate those less fortunate or unable to pay. this is a social contract I'm happy with.
