Obama faces high-stakes China, Russia meetings..

^"Outside the Bank of England, a small group of protesters threw small missiles at police lines..."
This gave me a mental image of hundreds of tiny little rubber eraser misiles (not sure what they really were) being hurled at the police...hahhaa..that's actually pretty comical.

Wow. Interesting turn of events here, ExxonMobil suing Northern trust, it's pension fund managers, for "reckless and negligent investing strategies" for making CDO's such a big part of their portfolios:
http://zerohedge.blogspot.com/20…
Looks like mega-corps are trying to recoup their losses right out of the financial industries hide by all legal means. Northern Trust had received 1.6 billion in TARP funding that it was going to return, but now, bets are off on that.
Wow. If all big companies that lost money in their pension funds start suing the pension fund managers that'll just totally refreeze any warming of the credit markets.
There's already a gun to the head of the economy, this just puts pressure on the trigger finger. Fuck.

^ Oh shit, this is REALLY BAD.

Seriously, how is two private companies suing each other a failure of government? You're brain is broken...
- TheBlueOne0
Ah, I stand somewhat corrected - it's not ExxonMobil suing, but rather a participant of their pension fund.
Probably be dismissed. Hopefully. Although I feel for the people in the pension fund...
- TheBlueOne0
Another lawsuit on same legal grounds, although fraud is probably far more provable in this case:
- ********0
^^^ Government gives money to banks. Folks sue banks for that money. Our taxpayer dollars go to satisfy legal decisions. The government fails to anticipate this wrinkle. Even more TARP money is pissed away.
Does this make sense, or I am I wrong?

Not wrong per se, but the legal mechanism exists whether there is TARP money or not. If a company can sue a pension fund management company on negligence/fraud, really doesn't matter if the company received TARP funds or not.
The companies aren't suing BECAUSE the government gave them money, that just sweetens some pots.
I concede that those companies that manage pension portfolios and did receive TARP money make a juicier target, but in and of itself isn't the root mechanism at work.
The main issue is STILL mismanagement and fraud at the financial corporations (which you seem to believe these guys deserve bonuses for....) and not the TARP funds.
In other news, FBI close to filing fraud charges against AIG financial division:

It's hard to believe that Obama and his policies are to the left of the EU, and the EU is beginning to hate* him (The east hates him as well. China will want to fight us soon). My, how things can change in such a short period of time.

Proof please."China will want to fight us soon"
Pure neo-con pablum. China is about anti-military interventionalist as a large regional power can be. China hasn't engaged in a foreign war for nearly a milennia. They're quite aggressive in their own backyard, but as far as outwardly aggressive?
And there is no way the US is going to get into a fighting war in asia against china.

- China engaged in the Korean War, against the USA. Not a milennia ago of course.********

re: China
Look, I can see a case for China's government using anti-western rhetoric at home to fuel some kind of military action to bleed off social unrest at home...but and this is a huge but..if China is in a position to have to do that you can bet dollars to doughnuts that their will be far more than enough domestic unrest within china
Furthermore this flies in the face of China's history. China ONLY became a unified nation (within current geographic borders) in the 20th century, and within that process went through two huge internal wars and two periods of massive social unrest to get there. Historically China has always been a place of distinct regional warring areas, most specifically the trading/mercantile coastal regions cs. the agricultural interiors. These are age old fissures that have erupted again and again over the milenia. The only thing holding it together now was the promise of neo-fuedal capitalist prosperity the Communist party was promising the country and an east german like state police. These things do not hold up well in dire economic conditions. I would see an internal strife-torn China before I'd see a foreign international military adventure on china's part.
Although, I would expect to see a more muscular display of china's navy against the US and Japan in the coastal regions of China and Taiwan, and certainly wouldn't rule out a proxy resource war in Africa...
- Besides, all China has to do to fuck us up is dump their treasuries on the market and down goes the dollar..TheBlueOne
- ..why waste the bullets...TheBlueOne
- Well said. China is suffering immensely. The great "untold" news story— China is sinking fast on many fronts. They blame the USA.********
- blame the USA. Also, if there ever is a proxy war in Africa, or anywhere else for that matter, the US would likely engage.********

I get to see others attitude towards us on a day to day basis. My work is a global company and has offices in over 12 countries. At any given time in our office there can be 2-3 languages being heard. We have French, Chinese, Japanese, German, Italian, Swiss and Russian.
I have had many a conversation with them on their countries attitude towards us and it is not good at all.
I do get pissed when people start talking in other languages when others are around. Total pet peeve of mine. What are you saying? What are you SAYING!!!!

G-20 protesters clashed with riot police in downtown London on Wednesday, breaking into the heavily guarded Royal Bank of Scotland and smashing its windows. Earlier, they tried to storm the Bank of England and pelted police with eggs and fruit.
