why did we let the bankers do whatever they wanted too
- We didn't. congress told them they needed to start making loans to no traditional families.********
- Those families didnt have stable jobs, incomes or enough income for the property they bought.********
- On top of that, the bank knowing these people were not educated set them up with sub prime loans which allowed********
- $800 mortgages when rates were low, but rates sky rocketed along with the payments.********
- They only paid interest on the loans therefore never decreasing the debt********

It is not now, nor has it ever been a "free market", unless by "free" you mean letting insiders freely game the system for profit with no accountability. But sure, go ahead and blame it on poor people "buying" houses they couldn't afford. Because you know, the guys at FOX and CNBC and all the other media conglomerates and their think tank talking heads tied into the financial companies tell you that's the real story.
