What a solid release from Sasha. Creative, uplifting and memorizing. I have been hammering the promo release for about a week, and yesterday iTunes pulled the trigger early and pushed it to sale. It was an Instant buy.
Inspirational. Motiviating. Captivating.

I will also post a really good read about being a DJ. Probably one of the best interviews I have read. It is also really good for us "graphic" artists. Neat to see the symbiotic relationship of expressive art.

Involver was also solid, will try to find the CD later on today and give it a spin.

lol. It does not come out until Sept 8 in UK & USA on Sept 9. iTunes pulled the trigger too soon. ;)
Way worth it. The M83 cut is very nice, and the Thom Yorke is just bliss. I have listened it to it over 20 times so far, and it keeps growing.

I loved Airdrawndagger. But I've seen him twice live and both times was so boring.

ADD was a master piece. I remember getting the promo for that. I flipped my lid. I think I stayed up until 6AM listening to the Alb on repeat. Amazing piece of work.
- I don't know if I'd go as far as masterpiece, but it is damn fucking fine album.skwiotsmith
- To me it was a masterpiece. ;)dibec

only thing is... he sucks when he plays with digweed.
when he's solo he's amazing.

the expander ep is my favourite album cover ever... and the designer of it i found out was a friend of mine after knowing him for several years!

That Thank You mix is certainly good. I haven't paid attention to Sasha in at least 8 years. Nice to see he's found a fresh sound. He was always a great DJ, but he definitely spent a few years in the fluffy rave-trance trenches.

sasha - expander & underworld - born slippy is what made us what we are today

He has gone with a more minimal/tech house/techno/progressive style. And yes his Expander EP was excellent. The cover was dope. I remember dropping Belfunk at a house party and people going nuts. Awww. Good times.
Here was my mock up of the Expander EP. :)
I am uploading some of his best live sets to share.
I R Fan.

So Sasha's NOW playing Christian Smith (great new sound in 1997 - however producing the same record since), and Layo and Bushwacker (both talented beat-driven tech-house/break artists, unfortunately both slightly twats - Matthew 'Bushwacker' B was sat in our front room, and I looked over at him, and he had been using a small plate as an ashtray - a plate off which I ate sandwiches, and other good things. "Oh - can I use this as an ashtray ? he said. "Apparantly...", I replied, genuinely shocked at how skanky it was.
He later persuaded a friend of mine to drive him 'just up the road' to a party, which it turns out was over 100miles away. Berk.
So anyway, Sasha's playing this is he ?
It was, and always has been, called techno, and we were all playing it and living it 10 years ago when he and Mr Digweed were still touting their rather bland flavors of 'progressive house' for the umpteenth year in a row.
Don't get me wrong, back in the day the Sasha tape with Laurent Garnier really inspired many people and was genuinely forward thinking, but don't try and fool us that you're not just rehashing an old sound now that you've decided it really is better than the sway-by-numbers durge you've been making to fill up bargain bins since before any of us had kids or a proper job.

^^^ dude nice. Respect. ;)

I remember seeing him every other saturday in pacha buenos aires when I was a kid, this was back before trance exploted and turned into crap in the hands of tiesto and friends. Back when tickets were affordable and venues were not packed.. I then left argentina for a year and a half, and when I returned.. it was chaos..
impossible to get in.. massive polo stadiums had replaced fancy night clubs crazy..
I remember liking the expander edit (mellow version) (which I probably have on cd somewhere) a lot..
I will give this a spin for the old days
- before it went the way of the popped collars and white hats. ahh those were the days.lvl_13
