vespa makes the most proper points. and this goes for everyone.
the more money you ask for the more clout you can have in that game, so dont hold, and dont believe anything about reccessions and all that... there is always room for high salaries or higher than you are earning.
boost your rates, and see how easy your life can become, the worst they can say is no or lets negotiate, but if you pigeon hole yourself into a lower class salary then you will never ever make a better one and your chances of moving up in your career will very much be at a stand still and you will hate your life.
ive been there,, im saying from experience, rasise your rates higher than you think... and you will be very suprised at how many yes answers you get over a lower salary and a no answer is usually given.

quickly added some work to the site too... thought that might help.

All I got from the link was a completely blank screen. Let's hope you've done more than that, so far.
- akrokdesign0
make sure you got a PDF version also.

Use dates as well, not 07-08.
Proofread and be consistent. For example, you have periods at the end of some points and not others. Use proper grammar. "Nemark attracted branded custom including", I don't know what that means.
The purpose of the resume should be to advertise yourself and to highlight your accomplishments and career in order to make somebody interested enough to request an interview. As it is now, it's not reader friendly and nobody will take the time to read through it.

First off, why a Word Doc if you are creative Director? Should be a PDF. As soon as I opened the doc the first thing I said to my self was "information overload". Simplify you work experience to fit on one page, if not join the countless others with their resume/CV in the trash.
- Simplify, yes, but it doesn't have to fit on one page. Two pages is okay.such

guys i appreciate your feedback on the design however... its by no means finished, its in word and in the current layout just so i can throw it around.
ive been advised that MSWord docs are preferred by recruiters as they can edit contact info and chuck their logo at the top
expect it to be designed more when it becomes v0.9 :)
- epete220
does this have to be done in word?
- akrokdesign0
i got 3 creative recruiters and only 1 of them told me to take of my contact info. other than that, they all got PDFs.
i have though run into that a few big ad agencies prefer a word doc as its some nut at HR department how has no idea what a PDF is/are. lol.

oki v0.1 on its way thanks guys

Try to cut those paragraphs and lists in half at least
Move redundant info into a skills summary section. Those overview paragraphs should highlight your special accomplishments, not so much your day to day activities. Keep quantifiable stuff like '200% increase'.As others have said, get on the grammar wagon.

i went over your resume, first off your margins are too large, extended them out by a lot and this would really solve everything and you can easily be on 1 page.
i suggest you follow or 'frankestien' your own resume from the examples i provided you or use them straight up. these are the professional industry standards with building resumes, make good usage of ACTION words to begin each achievement you have accomplished and dont repeat any ACTION word twice.
try to not describe yourself in first person as you are not the person reading the CV, make it 3rd person so the reader can assosciate with it easier rather than thinking oh this person is rather conceited...
do not use titles for categories like "EMPLOYMENT HISTORY"
change to 'PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE'
I dont understand the need to advise anyone of your driving record... unless you are to be a delivery boy for a pizza joint take that out.
i may have other comments, i may not... but over all you need to fix everything and change the layout and make it overall more professional.
if i had received your resume i would just throw it out as its too busy and all over the place and the content is centered only with tiny margins and 2 pages?!!? you dont even have that much work experience to have 2 pages, so keep it to 1.
good luck.

trooper.......... no offense intended but how come a creative director who has also ran his own company amonst other things be putting his CV up on QBN for people of far less experience to judge
also on the critical side of things, the content is decent stuff but nothin about your CV tells me ur creative, even down to the grid, typography.
i have alot less experince but every CV i have done, i try to put a high level of creative thought into it and as a web designer i obviously like to tie them both in to give the impression of a brand.
- trooper- dont use the word 'also' to start an achievemente-pill
- describe your actions in past tense not the present when your dates show the past.e-pill
- be consistant. your resume doesnt show you are, so are you??e-pill
- because ive never had to write one before - its easy critiquing other peoples but doing my own is a new experiencetrooper
- YES well use this as a super teaching experience..e-pill

trooper-
take out your date of birth, it is actually illegal to ask a person their age in an interview as that is BIAS and Discrimination.
also i dont see any schooling... how did you become so ''good or bad at what you do?''
list where you studied, your professional experience will be shown as great because you are telling the potiential employeer you have the learning and has studied the processes to get there.
your resume is just stating you have worked 3 jobs and your driving record is clean and full and its an essay to read...
when resumes are shown to me i should really know in a few seconds exactly who you are, where you studied and what level of professional experience you hold.
your resume doesnt speak any of that to me at all..
again good luck..

if you are going to have 2 pages make sure you put your name and page number on the top right. you should do this because when faxed or emailed a lot of times the person printing it out or grabing from a stack of prints may misplace the order of the pages and your resume which is for most 1 page may not even be handed to the proper person as being 2 pages, this way you are showing your professionalism and your attention to details.
who wants to hire someone who cant even label their own resume correctly, i sure as hell do not...
also as most people have already stated, your title as CD, should showcase a great level of command to themselves and to the details they are describing towards themselves. i think it is very vague as a title to shop around and most people who use it better be the fucking best at what they do or else well you are just hurting your chances in your own career but only showing everything you cant do...
meh...
ok im done with the lecture, now get to busting out that paper and go get a job!!!!
also 1 last thing... white paper, no logos and use the best font you can.
if you dont your resume will be thrown away or used as an example to what you should never do.
