If a two-wheeled vehicle can be discretely ridden while wearing a skirt, it should probably be left to those that do.

I've owned two Aprillias and two Vespas, in America mind you. I currently have a new Vespa LX 150 and like it a lot. You pay a premium for a Vespa, but the build quality is good. There aren't many scooters out there that have metal bodies anymore.
The only issue with the new Vespas is that if you don't ride them very often, you need manually charge the battery top keep it in top form. The alternators are small and need time to pump juice in there when the bikes in motion. The kickstart, against the logic of what a kickstart is for, doesn't work very well when the battery is almost dead.
Don't be concerned with the gay connotations. Plenty of people in the world ride scooters and have sex with women. Sometimes on the scooter.
- The old school Italjets are nice not sure of the reliability though..philipdrumman

My only real concern is the weather here in Melbourne. Summer is ok, but not more than 4-5 months of the year. Most of my day to day travelling is from home/office to local cafes. I might do about 5kms a day. Not much compared to most. And my car is a guzzler and not the best for short trips.
I def want something old school. Nothing new or modern looking.

I have a vespa which I love. And I'm not gay.
But I'm married with a child so I don't really have sex much anymore though.

You should get one of these
They are only 1500 bucks brand spankin new. All customizable and shit. Beats the hell out of a scooter.
You can read about them here: http://www.kikker5150.com/hardkn…- I ride motorcycles and these bikes on the road get really fuckin annoying. Though they look cool, but stay off my road!dan5382
