Thanks for the kind words, she was the best.
The last weeks for her where hell, slipping away more and more
so she chose for her own end. For me she is the bravest person.
Still smiling in the brink of defeat, even the last weeks in the hospital all the nurses became her friends, that was her biggest quality, a true giver and everybody immediately loved her.

Sorry to hear. All the best to you and your family.
Her presence will live on through your memories of her and the little things that your family has picked up from her along the way.

Your mom is smiling upon you now.

watch "Thin Red Line" -- every bird in the movie indicates a soul... it will make you feel really good inside.

tank, sorry to hear that my friend. God bless you and your family.
My own mom is living with a rare terminal disease called Wegener's. She's had it for 10 years. Sometimes she's totally fine for a year or two, and then gets wiped out...basically what happens w/ Wegener's is one's immune system goes haywire and starts attacking healthy parts of the body. It can manifest itself anywhere and look like a myriad other problems. Eventually it will kill her; it's not a matter of if, but rather when.
I just hope she has enough time to get to know her first grandson. At this point she's OK but you never know.

The first time my mom came to have lunch with me at work, my boss was in awe of how beautiful she was; not just because of her looks but because of her smile, it radiates peace and joy. She has really come to terms with her sickness through the grace of God. It's incredible to see how much she enjoys the simple things in life.
A couple weeks ago, my dad turned 60. It was a Monday, his day off. He and my mom had breakfast together under their covered porch, which overlooks a state park. It started raining as the drank their coffee, and the air was perfect. They sat out there and just talked for a while. My mom told my dad that was God's little gift to him on his birthday. It makes me smile to think of those two old lovebirds taking it all in.

Also a good one,
even though my parents where divorced, they went a lot for coffee the last months. This photo says all, my dad is a silent man that can't show his emotions (but he is awesome, he was just raised that way) and my mom tries to make him smile. My dad, poor man, i really saw a broken man today.
