not philadelphia. it makes me angry.
in comparison, the nicest parts of philadelphia are like ok parts of NYC. its a lot nicer there than in philadelphia and the food is infinitely better not to mention the whole city doesn't smell like piss. literally everything in philadelphia is covered in piss.

I think I want to go to Boulder next.
I miss Detroit too, if I could of found a job I would of stayed... maybe.

Really? From what I have heard Detroit would be at the bottom of most lists? Never been though.
- I had a lot of fun in Detroit, but its also where I grew up. Went to school, so thats probably why. Doesn't offer much in comparison to other cities.nicole_marie
- most foreclosures in the u.s. are in detroitcuke426
- yea its really sad, even the suburbs have abandoned homes now too.nicole_marie
- detroit is a smoldering craterLlyod
- Detroit will always be a part of me, but I had to move on.Douglas
- Of course, when people say "Detroit" they're not talking about the actual citySigDesign
- had to leave the detroit area for work... it wasn't the best place, but it was funSigDesign

i like Salt Lake, minutes from the mountains, and winters aren't that cold here, NYC winters are 20x worse.

i've lived in boston for 9 years and have really enjoyed my time here. there's always alot going on, but it never becomes overwhelming. however the winters get old quick and so do all of the red sox fans. after i finish school i think i want to move to either seattle or sf, and give the west coast a try for once.

West coast is rad. I would range it from Sf up to Vancover BC. Lots of love.

I'm really surprised by the number of people knocking Philly. If I'd have known so many people hated it I might've looked somewhere else for work.

philadelphia has been ok to me. Has its ups and downs.. Philly has parts that smell like piss, but so does NY and probably any major city in the Us.
Providence was an ok place to live. A lot of providence locals Go crazy chasing you in their cars and yelling shit like "FAG"...
Detroit is kind of amazing, because you can pretty much do anything down there and not have cops busting your balls.. That is, Wanna go Urban exploring? Break in amazing buildings, do crazy shit, people worry more about the wild packs of Dogs than the security catching you.

santa monica, ca because
you can readily explore the coast, have plenty of weekend trip options, hiking, biking, surfing, weather is beautiful (i'm not even running an air conditioner and don't need to .. just open the windows), little natural disaster concern, air is much cleaner than other areas of LA, plenty of design/ad work near so you don't have to drive that much. you can immerse youself in a crowd on venice beach or enjoy exclusion in malibu.
i went to a dance apparel store yesterday and was invited to join their free yoga class on the beach every sunday. i like this kind of living.

Yeah I liked the friendliness of people in LA (when I was there anyway). Seemed like you would meet a lot of weird but interesting people.

Foster City, CA
If you ever have flown into SFO, you would most likely spot it. There's a big sign on the ground. The guy who founded it was a real estate magnate (family still is), and he did this because he found retirement too boring and set out to build a master planned community. The whole city was salt flats, marshlands, cow pasture before it was filled with landfill norrrrrrrth of the airport in the 60's-70's. There was supposed to be a Le Courbisier structure built, but that never came to be. Anyways, with a nice lagoon (also designed to save the city from the 100-year flood), average 1 murder/decade, hella parks near you, a bike trail that is next to the bay, diverse population, and a general peaceful feeling, it's a nice city to live in. If you can afford it. Average price for a home is about ~1 million. VISA, Sony Entertainment of America, CafePress, SolarCity, Gilead, Applied Biosystems, the people who make ...For Dummies, and the people who make the Sling Box are some of the companies who call Foster City home. 20 miles from both San Francisco and San Jose.
I get a bit bored here sometimes (I like European cities better), but it's a nice city to live in.
