Last night I went into feed her and she was just sat on the kitchen floor. Her back legs had completely gone, I had to put her food in fornt of her but she refused to eat. She tried to move but could only drag herself around.
I gave her an apple (she seems to love them), ate it but then bought it up a while later. My mum called me today to tell me her quality of life is so poor it would be unfair to keep her going.
Thanks all for your kind words.
We found her at a rescue home and she come with a smaller dog (you had to have one with the other), Tyson – a little terrier who will be very lonely now.
Smaller dogs always live longer...

You're a good man mate - you gave her love and a good life - and she gave you memories to cherish.

Thanks sucks. Glad to hear she was nice. I would guess the genetics really helped (her being a nice dog), but the environment that you provided her was probably quite nurturing. Kudos to raising a good dog. I hope you can get another one if you want/are ready.

Sorry to hear this looked like a noble dog.

She really was a beautiful dog, so much so that I had been stopped on a number of occasions in the street by people commenting on how beautiful she was. Such a great temperament as well, when you offered her food from your hand she never snapped at it but gracefully took it from you. Great with kids too....

sorry to hear Dancer, must be tough to deal with....
We're 'preparing' for one of our boys to depart - He was just diagnosed with intestinal lymphoma. Due to fact that the cancer is in an organ, and his age (he's a senior), treatment isn't really an option. His spirits are still high, but it's only a matter of time. We are just watching him closely to make sure he's comfortable and cherishing every moment with him. Bruno will be crushed with his brother gone.
