Maybe, but if Obama wins, it will ultimately mean economic regression. EVERY AMERICAN who thinks Obama is their symbol of achievement MUST know that Obama is a puppet of a billionaire socialist from Transylvania who is using him to push a socialist agenda for the US and the EU, while he gets rich playing the dollar short now and Euro later.

"There’s a problem with this mythology: sometimes there’s no invisible hand. Sometimes short-sighted government regulations give preference to bad technologies over good ones — stifling innovation and blinding us to our own ability to make progress."
You should read your own article first before spouting nonsense about capitalism.

You mean like what happened today:

Hedge I am surprised you're here. My brother works at Morgan Stanley and he manages the IT staff that does all the international video conferencing. Just got off the phone with him and he's working late...lots of crazy conferences going on between here and Asia because of the markets in the last 24...but amazingly you have time to come to a designer forum and defend your twisted trolling on capitalism. Stunning really. Maybe you really do manage other people's money...you just suck off the top bit and tell your clients to "suck on this".

Also Blue, don't get hung up on individual index performance. In markets like the current, I'm usually shorting or buying puts.

You're against democracy, capitalism, and all that the U.S. stands for. I get it. What I don't understand is why you continue to reside here. You live on the land, utilize all that the government does provide you with, partake in this evil noumenon called capitalism and reap all of the monetary benefits that result, yet you so quickly turn around and verbally detest the very system you engage in.
Enlighten me.

the U.S. is a republic, not a democracy.

the more harmful, meaner and more destructive a certain thing is, the more money can be made from it. An absolute empiric rule from which man knows no exceptions.
Economic coercion, which is capitalism, and the forced growth of needs is based on creating a shortage. Technical progress which increases productivity and thus annuls shortage, is incompatible with capitalism by definition.
The transformation of humans and their basic human needs into consumers with inflated consumer needs, is the declared purpose of the most important branch of capitalism: marketing and entertainment industry. most corporations today spend more money on marketing than raw material, wages and amortization altogether. For example, the marketing portion of the expenditures of corporation Coca-Cola is more than 80%, which makes sense considering coca-cola is completely unnecessary, not useful in any way for anything or anyone and even harmful for the health. of course, this is after they stopped putting cocaine to the drink -- marketing proved more effective- you buzzin? Coke goes perfect with my rum. It wuz MADE for it.Khurram

another funny example, after the WWII, when Americans came to Japan to sell antidepressant drugs, they discovered that there was no word for depression in japanese. In the japanese concepts of Godai feeling sad was seen as a moment of contemplation of life,it didn't have the negative connotations we/they associate with depression today.
so the whole concept needed to be invented and marketed under that new idea. successfully, antidepressants are a growing multibillion industry in Japan, and one out of 15 is not able to work at some point in life because of depression
