My roommate and I are planning a vacation to Vegas in a couple of weeks.
Whos been to Vegas? What are the spots to visit? What hotels are nice?
Also what website do you guys recommend for a package offer on a hotel and plane (Expedia, Travelocity, Orbitz)

I stayed at MGM and Wynn
MGM is younger crowd - good restaurants
Wynn is expensive but has the "european pool" with boobies all over.
Go to the hard rock, fun place to see stars and u can go to the ReHab pool party - but get there early (i missed it) but i hear it's ladies galore.
vegas is fun but be prepared to drop mad loot.

ReHab doesn't open until until end of April/beginning of May, but yes, it can be a good, nasty time for everyone.
What are you looking to do exactly? I can get you in the know on some events and Open Bars and shit like that. Just hit me up and let me know. I might be able to get you on a few club lists too if you're into that type of thing.

Red Square at Mandalay Bay is a fun place to get started or stay all night.

I'm going out in mid April for the NAB show. Can't wait!

Hard Rock is the place to be. It's a little bit away from the strip, but they have Rehab and Pink Taco (the restaurant)!
Palms is also pretty cool, again away from the strip, but they have some really good clubs.
On the strip, I would say MGM, Wynn, Venetian and Caesars.
Enjoy!

why not just rent "fear & loathing" and call it a day?

I was just out there for the Consumer Electronics Show and had a great time. I wouldn't want to 'do' Vegas very often, but I had some fun. It can get cheesy pretty quickly.
I stayed at Planet Hollywood. I loved that place. The music (all over) was great, the feel of it was nice... nice rooms... and I left +$300.00.
Check out the Venetian (walk through it) and New York, New York. Can't say much about staying there (cause I didn't) but I hear that all of the rooms at the Venetian are suites.
I also went to the Hard Rock for lunch. It was just ok. However once the Rehab pool parties begin again on Sundays, this is what you can expect... 3,000 people show up on a normal day.
Good luck getting in there!!http://www.lastnightsparty.com/r…

Clubs:
Privé at Planet Hollywood, PURE at Caesars Palace, LAX at Luxor, Body English at Hard Rock, JET at The Mirage, The Bank at Bellagio, TAO at The Venetian, Moon at the PALMSsmaller clubs:
Tryst at The Wynn, Tangerine at Treasure Island, TABU at MGM Grand, MIX at Madalay Bay 'The Hotel'Strip Clubs:
Seamless, Spearmint Rhino, SCORESDO's:
Buy some clothes to club in at the Forum Shops at Caesars or the Fashion Show Mall, spend and afternoon at Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay, footlong hot dogs at Slots Of Fun (next to Circus Circus), cheap drinks at Imperial Palace (plus they have blackjack dealers dressed like Elvis, Madonna, etc. that get up and perform. It's horribly hilarious), Mr Lucky's at Hard Rock for that 4am food need, Burger Bar at Mandalay Place for some fantastic burgers before you hit the clubs, watch the tigers do nothing behind a thick pane of glass at Sigfried and Roy's "Secret Garden" at the Mirage (if they're still there), kill some time and spend way too much money bowling at Lucky Strike at the Rio, get some pasta at the old school italian joint Battista's Hole In The Wall (in an old strip mall behind Barbary Coast, head downtown for some cheap drinks and cheesy old school Vegas (there's a pretty good bar scene poppin up down there now: Beauty Bar, Downtown Cocktail Room), hit a dive bar like Double Down by the Hard Rock and try to catch a hard rock/punk band playing, go to Chinatown about 1 mile west of the Strip for tons of Asian food options, drink quite a bit before you leave your hotel room for the night (this will save you hundreds of dollars)DONT's:
buy club passes from cabbies (you can get them for free on the street), go in the pool water if you do hit a pool party, buy premixed daquiri and margarita bong things (hardly any alc in those things), drink the tap water because it is nasty, walk around in the neighborhoods surrounding the Strip, stand in the regular line to get into a club or else you'll waste 2 hours of your night

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone that helped out.

Its kinda shiny and noisy on the strip and full of midwesterners. Check out downtown vegas for a more gritty feel.
