try wiritng an action, then applying the action to a batch?

sure.. go to your actions panel, create a new action, mine's called CMYK2RGB - stop recording. Open a CMYK image. Start recording > set mode to RGB. Stop recording. go to File > automate > batch. Select your CMYK2RGB as the 'action', select correct folders. Done

Beware your black - if you're converting print jobs into screen jobs, your black may be more K than 0,0,0!
- So yeah, do what spooky says below. Pfft, helpful cyant that he is, how dare he?detritus

... yes to all that, but you'll need to include a stage of colour adjustment in the action script. CMYK files don't convert back to the original RGB values, they're hugely desaturated. I would include a bit of levels adjustment - darks up, mids down a snadge - then a quick wibble on the old Saturation slider. To do a really good conversion you need to go from CMYK into LAB, make the necessary adustments there, and then on to RGB. LAB is a very neglected format these days.

had to share with you what a fanny I am.
Just realised that by doing the "save for web" step all images are converted to RGB anyhow.
arse, wasted hours on that when there was no need...

we did a site once where each main section of the website was colourcoded. so after building the WHOLE site, the company that did the company's corporate guidelines gets in touch with us and tells us that in fact one of their junior designers who was compiling the document had made mistakes with the colour spec ( i presume it was CMYK>RGB mistakes). We had to redo all the graphics for the site and all the stylesheets. was LOADS of work. I do hope that junior got stabbed
- I hope the client got charged for the extra work.Studiospooky
