i work my ass off - min 60 a week, and i did pull a couple 90 hours weeks last month, but i also directly benefit from every ounce of work i do. So i'm very ok with it.
100 hour week is nutz. i don't see how someone could do it and really produce quality work if they are not just slicing and dicing mockups for websites their agency is underselling.

if you need more time than 9 to 5 and arent in the film/tv/game industry, than you suck and need to work faster.
- i did 3.5m last year with 12 employees working long hours clearing anywhere from 45% to 75% on all jobs.
what where you saying again??onewhoslaps - um, ok? lolvague
- "thEn" and pace is more often determined by procedural thumb-sitting and client fubarskerus

not if you are running your own biz, in which case you are always working (don't think I've worked a 40 our week in 8 years)

i work exactly 40 hours a week because our company makes it mandatory. Even if I finish all my work before 40 hours, I have to stick around until 40 hours are up. So, I rarely go over unless there's a project I have to finish.

I think 40 hours a week rule is stupid and only decreases productivity. I think I'm slower for working where I work.

I'm around 50-60 hours a week, I don't personally know anyone that works only 40 hours...it seems unheard of.

I work when I need to. Unfortunately during this time, that's about 50 hours a week.
But then again, I work at home for myself so who cares.

50 hours is the max I will work. Anything else and it just becomes pointless since my head isn't in it which is always visible to myself and others.
I also work for a huge heartless agency, which appreciates and more than understands the above.

I work 9-5 most often. And when there is overtime I get paid for it.

9-6 or 7, I eat lunch at my desk 95% of the time because I'm either too busy or can't justify paying good money for crap food.

Usually 8/9 till 6ish. Occasionally past 7 but really not that much compared to some places I've worked. Some weekend work for pitches and tight deadlines but it's all my choice. Previous place midnight or even all nighters weren't uncommon.

hi. I've done 9 to through the night then the next day of work, all in a oner before. ouch.
seldom leave at half 5 from my 9 start, on average half 6 but with some 8/9/10's thrown in there for good measure and the odd sunday.
I reckon I probably get paid a fairly shite wage in comparison to a lot here too.
gads I hate these threads ;) curiously, I am enjoying my job more now than I have in about 3 years though. Bonus.

09.30 – 18.00 though at the back and call of any client that can be blown right out of the window. Oh yeah, add to that a 1.5 hour commute each way.

I normally do an average of a 50 hour week, or 10 hours per day monday - friday.
Today is the 29th day straight that I have been working and I've averaged over 12 hours a day for this project - still it is finished in 6 days time, I can get some kip then.
