anyway, to answer the question, is 9 to 5 a myth?
yes. time is a man made construct created in order to help our feeble minds make sense of the universe.

- And it worked alright, until they fucked it all up with DST. Way to go.ismith

36.5 hours a week.
- I commute 4 hours a day though, so it's more like 56.5canuck
- I commute a lot too. Nearly 3 hours. 4 hours must suck, but you get used to it, right?Jaline
- Depends on the commute. Never got used to 3/4 hours of driving. Now, I have a 3 hours on the train/subway, and it's like nothing.StratusGD
- I only drive an hour out of the four. I spend the rest on public transit. I sleep a lot.canuck

you are ALL liars!! you spend most of your time here on QBN, no wonder you need more time to finish work! (and therefore 'work' more than 40hrs) :P

If you can't figure it out in normal hours, it's probably one of these reasons:
1) Your time management skills suck
2) Your boss is an asshole
3) You're the boss

50hr weeks, 9-7pm. i've beet at work until 10:30 on a few occasions. If I could get off at 5, that'd be amazing.

35 week = 9.30/12.30am - 14.00/18.00pm. Design+DB+Maintenance. Boring.

- Yeah, whatever. I will get you for free.Jaline
- now that was really clever. I give up. fair is fair. Do what you like with me: I care.Corvo

I came in at 10:30am and I'm still here, it's 10:15pm.

i work my ass off - min 60 a week, and i did pull a couple 90 hours weeks last month, but i also directly benefit from every ounce of work i do. So i'm very ok with it.
100 hour week is nutz. i don't see how someone could do it and really produce quality work if they are not just slicing and dicing mockups for websites their agency is underselling.

if you need more time than 9 to 5 and arent in the film/tv/game industry, than you suck and need to work faster.
- i did 3.5m last year with 12 employees working long hours clearing anywhere from 45% to 75% on all jobs.
what where you saying again??onewhoslaps - um, ok? lolvague
- "thEn" and pace is more often determined by procedural thumb-sitting and client fubarskerus

not if you are running your own biz, in which case you are always working (don't think I've worked a 40 our week in 8 years)
- StratusGD0
9-6. Shit happens, so of course I work later from time to time, but I get in, get my stuff done, and go home. No more all-nighters. No more weekends. Put in my time on that crap. I'll change careers before I do that again.

i work exactly 40 hours a week because our company makes it mandatory. Even if I finish all my work before 40 hours, I have to stick around until 40 hours are up. So, I rarely go over unless there's a project I have to finish.
- vwsung18t0
I think 40 hours a week rule is stupid and only decreases productivity. I think I'm slower for working where I work.
- JackRyan0
I'm around 50-60 hours a week, I don't personally know anyone that works only 40 hours...it seems unheard of.
- subimage0
I work when I need to. Unfortunately during this time, that's about 50 hours a week.
But then again, I work at home for myself so who cares.
