you are ALL liars!! you spend most of your time here on QBN, no wonder you need more time to finish work! (and therefore 'work' more than 40hrs) :P

I work at home. I start right at 9:00, after I walk my daughter to school. I work until I walk over and get her at about 5:45. I usually break for about 30-45 minutes for lunch. Sometimes I work an hour or two in the evening.
Right now my work load seems about right to me. I'd like to get more work, because then I would hire help, and put another person to work.

The ad agency I used to work for has hours from 8:30 to 5 and you were supposed to take a 1-hour lunch break. To their credit, they were really good about us leaving on-time. Rarely we'd have to stay late or even work weekends, but very rare I'd say. I credit the interactive project managers for keeping a normal schedule.

I work the night shift at a 7-11

what I don't understand is that if you work more than 40hrs but are on salary, chances are you only get payed for 40hrs. So if you decide to just leave at 5pm to resolve this, you get the "office asshole" stigma attached to you.

9-5, with a 1 hour lunch break I take at 2. Not bad.

8:45-4:45 M-F here! no weekends unless it's freelance.

9-6. Shit happens, so of course I work later from time to time, but I get in, get my stuff done, and go home. No more all-nighters. No more weekends. Put in my time on that crap. I'll change careers before I do that again.

36.5 hours a week.
- I commute 4 hours a day though, so it's more like 56.5canuck
- I commute a lot too. Nearly 3 hours. 4 hours must suck, but you get used to it, right?Jaline
- Depends on the commute. Never got used to 3/4 hours of driving. Now, I have a 3 hours on the train/subway, and it's like nothing.StratusGD
- I only drive an hour out of the four. I spend the rest on public transit. I sleep a lot.canuck

10.30 - 6.
I average about 30 hours. This is set to get quite insane over the next few months though.

freelancing, i've found agencies work anywhere between 10-6 and 10-1am. i don't really mind when i'm doing motion grphics / tv / games as i don't want the quality of the work to suffer just cos i need another hour to fix some details before hitting the final render...
i plan to only work 3 days a week once my next 2 contracts are completed.

I normally do an average of a 50 hour week, or 10 hours per day monday - friday.
Today is the 29th day straight that I have been working and I've averaged over 12 hours a day for this project - still it is finished in 6 days time, I can get some kip then.

09.30 – 18.00 though at the back and call of any client that can be blown right out of the window. Oh yeah, add to that a 1.5 hour commute each way.

hi. I've done 9 to through the night then the next day of work, all in a oner before. ouch.
seldom leave at half 5 from my 9 start, on average half 6 but with some 8/9/10's thrown in there for good measure and the odd sunday.
I reckon I probably get paid a fairly shite wage in comparison to a lot here too.
gads I hate these threads ;) curiously, I am enjoying my job more now than I have in about 3 years though. Bonus.
