Hahaha, you guys are all missing the point, the 450 euros include the personal trainer, a 1-2 hours session, massage, shower session, steam room 'play time' lunch and the chance to get to know the trainer and his habits later at night.

I'm an idiot for not taking advantage of my university's gym. The thing is...I don't like working out in front of others. It's a catch-22 though, since the only way you can get over this social phobia is to actually do it. In a few months I will definitely join a gym and go at a time when there are not a lot of people there.

from what I've seen and trainers that I've met at the average gym, I'd say that 90% of those trainers that work for the gym just suck. but hey, everyone needs to start somewhere. good luck!

I just lost a lot of weight and can't get back to working out for at least another week or two. It sucks.
There is a new gym being built by my work (actually will even have a special road from our parking lots) that I will probably join and stop using the one at my place and work in a bit.
It's going to have a basketball court, olympic pool and be 24 hours so I am pretty excited. When it's up and running I will be able to move to a place without a gym and save some cash probably.
Plus I love swimming and this place only has a lap pool, or that stupid thing that just throws water at you and you swim in the same place. It's like a treadmill for water, who the hell wants to swim in that?
