Just saw it. Pretty incredible. No doubt half the people on the interweb will hate it though, grumpy bastards.

Wow, Mahnola Dargis really hated this movie.
But I had two different people whose opinion I respect tell me it was the most fun they had in a long time.

Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 77 out of 100, for what that's worth.
I'm gonna go see it in a bit.

sure sure this is all well and good, but what REALLY matters is what the Church of Scientology thinks of it.
- does tom cruise appear at the end to save everyone? "do not fear NYC. scientology hO!!!"734

When you drive past a giant monster and it's parasites, and you're a scientologist, it's different because you know you're the only one that can really do anything about it.

Someone from IMDB: "This movie was quite an experience. I don't think that fans will be disappointed; I surely wasn't. I won't say much about the film itself since that is half of the hype, but I will say this: The movie was very well done and kept me involved with what was happening. It was terrifyingly realistic with the camera movements, and that may make some viewers sick to their stomaches. I personally thought the cinematography added a lot to the film. I remember earlier last year people were raving about the Korean film "The Host" saying that it was amazing and one of the best monster movies ever. I would say that this is better, just on how realistic the scenes played out. It definitely recreated some of the same emotions as when the 9/11 attacks on New York took place. The movie rocked and I hope that everyone who sees it likes it."
