lvl- don't sweat the details like printing tickets, etc. hahaha- honestly, the less 'american' you can be in your details in S.A. the WHOLE lot better you will get into the flow. S.A. works on effectively a detail-less policy; nothing will be on time, nothing will cost what it says, nothing will be made like they say.... but therein lies the utmost beauty of the entire culture of latin america.
go, relax, if the flight doesn't leave on time and you can't make the ferry to get to the winery in time for the candle-lit dinner..... "oh well". in the end, it doesn't matter. the quicker you can feel these sorts of rhythms, the more the experience will be genuine. :)

i was just in BsAs and Mar del Plata 3 months ago. you have to go to the Recoleta Cemetery. it's pretty insane.

the cathedral is neat too.oh, and you can get a "buddy" too who can show you around. (they ask for donations but my guy wouldn't take more than like $15 or something):

i highly recommend that, as you can get a guided walking tour of the city, lots of the cool parts that you wouldn't find otherwise.

thanks for the info guys!
so as i said in my not to mad, i got an email today that said i needed to call the airline with my credit card info etc. to actually ensure our flight has been booked and paid for. that's fine and all, but is there any place online to actually fully book/buy tickets and be able to print out e-tickets? or is that only in the US?
the biggest thing i am concerned about if i call the 1800 # is how reliable that will be and if they will mail the tickets or send me some confirmation #...
thanks guys. you seriously have been a huge help. can i send you a photo print or something?

Mardelplata is nice, but its too crowded (unless you rent a house in punta mogotes, away from downtown, not as crowded, and still have access to the nightclubs/ casinos by car)
Pinamar: smaller than mardelplata, I like it better too, ugly girls will not be able to enter this town.

Smaller than pinamar, more quiet, nightlife is not as exciting, I think it may be a bit more expensive too, I never been there though I heard good things about it!

lex tango flight = one where you have a 'confirmation' (take this with a HUGE grain of salt), but where you are not assigned a seat (HUGE difference). you pay for it at the gate/airport/where you get your seat assignment. very inexpensive, but you may have to wait a couple flights (read: hours) to get on the flight you want.
airport locker = NOT SAFE
the overage fee on luggage in transport is nothing. and 15Kg only applies to carry-on, not checked luggage. checked allows for 35Kg.
- ahh thanks mad! good to know!
i actually got an email today that asked me to call in with my info (credit card# etc.).lvl_13

so bump again...sorry :\
what the hell is the difference between a flex tango flight and whatever the other choice is (already closed the window :\)
my biggest concern is that it says a 15kg limit on luggage. i mean we are only going there for 4 days, but is there anywhere we can store our remaining luggage (since we are there for 2 weeks)? is an airport locker safe?
sorry for all the stupid questions, but thanks much for any help :)
and thanks for all help given so far!

so....
after reviewing a number of things, a few more questions:
beach life-
mar del plata=nice beach, but probably where we don't want to go (way too fucking crowded, especially at the end of feb. beginning of mar.)so where are the nice warm less-crowded beaches (dare i ask for more romantic beaches?) ? la plata? colonia? montevideo? others? we are just looking for some nice beaches.
and so in the middle of the trip: mendoza.
places to see, places to go, places to stay?and still up in the air, but is there any inexpensive places to stay in (ie. not $500+, but more like <$200/night, and not a camping ground) to stay in torres del paine?
we are still trying to figure this honeymoon out, and it is proving to be somewhat of a challenge.
again, any help is much appreciated (and has been so far) but just remember it is my HONEYMOON TRIP.thank you once again.

I spent some time with family there a year or so back - spent the holidays in Cordoba, Bariloche, and Buenos Aires - speaking with ARCA representatives about residency in Buenoes Aires right now actually. Amazing place.

If you go in the summer, make sure visit pinamar. Great beaches, to relax and check out beautiful girls.

My father grew up between BA (Casaros?) and Mendoza.
If you eat meat, get some asado. Wake up early and get some
Facturas. Eat some Alfahores and dule de leche. I hear that nmarionettes are huge there. Have fun!

tips re: Chilé:
- only U.S. and Canadian citizens are required to purchase a $100USD visa in Chilé. it is a rip and logically arguing with them will not work (ask me how i know).- it is arguably the most expensive country in SA. great, albeit, but comparatively your exchange will go far less.
- no matter what anyone tells you, Chilé did NOT invent Pisco. however, they make a damn fine Pisco Sour.... ;)
- you can camp in Parqué Torres del Paine for only the fee of the park for time staying (days). there are hotels, clearly, but they are very expensive. also be very clear to plan on a FULL days' transport both going in, and coming back to/from the parqué. it is basically close to zero towns of major route.
- Note: i wish to HELL i was going to SA tomorrow. have a great trip.madirish

okay! so i was checking out flights from buenos aires to iguaza falls..
the cheapest i could find was a fucking grand (ie.$1000 US)!what?! that was off kayak.com. we wanted to go there for a few days at the end of february/beginning of march. please tell me there is something much, much, much more reasonable than that!?
thanks, and 1 million karma points for any help :)
