faith of atheists?
I will say it again, I have a fascinating hobby of not collecting stamps.

asserting that life et. al. is the product of non-teleological processes, is a faith proposition. Not an evidence based one. I don't expect you to understand this though, mrdobolina.

flag... why you telling me to read a book?...
... i'm familiar w/the theories... and I think I approached the idea of 'fine-tuning' rather accurately in regards to the way science changes dramatically each year...
... again... I've yet to see someone DISPROVE the existence of intelligent design.
Everyone's asking for proof... well... I'm asking you to disprove it...
... I can 'disprove' the big bang - I can show you the silliness in the ideas behind scientific 'fine-tuning'...
... I want someone to step up and show me how Intelligent design doesn't exist.

sorry, ponyboy, i didn't pay close enough attention to your post. My apologies.

I did not say intellectuals would not believe in organized religion. I'm saying it would be harder for them to.
For fucks sake, I don't know why I bother.
blaw
(Oct 25 07, 07:06)Thanks for clarifying. Of course it's harder, I see your point now. People who pride themselves on their intellectual prowess find it VERY hard indeed to concede that there might be a greater mind out there than anything ever produced by human birth.
Like Jesus said about rich people" "it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kindgom of heaven". The same can be said for those who idolize the logical power of their own brains.
Everyone has a hang-up of some sort that makes faith a tough pill to swallow. We're all handicapped in some way, not just the rich or the intelligentsia.

The solution to this is quite simple. Everyone in this thread is wrong.

what a non-answer! So The Great Dictator can't or won't provide actual evidence for it's own existance? And therefore i should try and invent it for myself like you have? Remember, i'm not asking for revelation, for me to believe in somthing it needs to be verifyable outside of my own experience. I've dangled my feet off the edge of the world enough times to know what kind of madness a mind can produce on it's own.
So i can criticize people who i disagree with can i? Thanks Ponyboy i don't remember asking for permission but it's nice to know...
- mrdobolina0
so now the onus is on the non-believer to "disprove" your god?
wow.
- flagellum0
Brookoi: What evidence can you provide which supports the notion that non-intelligent forces can originate specified information (programming code) and intricate machinery?
As for evidence for a creator, see my above post with links.

Brookoioioioioioiooooii--
Calling someone a 'piously ignorant joke'... and 'feeble-minded' for having their own beliefs is not criticism... ...that's called being a self-centered, arrogant twit...
...you're not debating... you're making fun of those who hold to their Faith... even though your 'faith'... aka 'science' is packed w/far more holes and contradicting theories... of which water would poor through like a spaghetti strainer...
- mrdobolina0
you finally convinced me flagellum.
- mrdobolina0
science is faith?
get yer head out of yer ass.
- PonyBoy0
no... get YOUR head out of your ass... :D
... you put your faith in MAN to tell you how things are, dobs...
... so yes... science is faith.
- mrdobolina0
it attempts to disprove itself everyday, it is tesated etc.
your faith does not match the same criteria.
Is god going to cure AIDS? No, is science? Maybe.
See the huge difference?
- PonyBoy0
dobs... my faith has never disproved itself... it's been constant - set on the same morals... history... and words that have not been rewritten to suite my 'new' needs in life.
*awaits the feeble-minded comments to continue

religion and science are no the same fucking thing, dammit!
