kelpie, thanks for being honest in spite of the FO.
I know what atheism means, or rather the ways that people define it.
My point was that, in my opinion, everyone worships something whether they realize it or not. I think all people are hard-wired for worship. Whatever is most important to each one of us – whatever we live for – that is our god or gods, as the case may be.
We either set ourselves up as the highest level of authority, or someone/something else. It's unavoidable.

my mistake pal, i have seen your name in quite a few design related topics on this board. but you can't deny your passions lie within these threads...

(Oct 16 07, 06:22)Well, it is what I worship...God I mean, not the arguments ;)
I think it's interesting that people like dobs and Mimio are very prolific in these threads. Either they are curious about the faith and mask it with a bristly approach, or they just really enjoy torturing people for the hell of it.
Reminds me of a kid I used to know whose cat would drag in live mice. The kid would poke the mouse with a stick and then proceed to drop a brick on its head.

religion and politics, always the hot topics........
so this thread started with a link to The Bible on Amazon, what has it degraded to this time?

Killing mice with bricks.
P.S. The "We're gonna win this thing" quote was from the Sopranos and was meant as a way to lighten the mood.

believe what you like, but don't everyone to honor the taboo of not questioning it.

(Oct 16 07, 07:47)No by all means question it. Crikey. I do it all the time. Keeps me thinking critically. You can't get answers if you don't ask questions. Question everything. Just be respectful.

Can someone loan me a copy ?

well when people minus faith are treated as if we don't get it and second class citizens, it makes that difficult sometimes.
- gramme0
When have I treated you or anyone else on here like a second class citizen? Haven't we had this conversation before?
When your mom told you to stop punching your brother or sister and act your age, did you think she was insulting your intelligence?
And if I have ever insulted you, I apologize. I try to keep the sarcasm to a dull roar.
- mrdobolina0
not you really, the other bible thumper.
- gramme0
I see.

Hold on a brick....I think I'm on to something! Let's start a metaphysical metal band. At the beginning of every show, we'll hold a religious debate and start slinging Bibles and flying pentacles at people to get the mosh pit going.
Dobs, you play the dead horse. I'll thump the Bible and smash podiums for dramatic effect.

Here is another thing, everytime I disagree I am told to go read the bible.
Now using that logic, yall should have read the Torah, the Koran whatever is the book of scientology, the writings of buddha and be experts in all of them. Otherwise you have no right to say that your religion is the TRUE way. Right? I mean everytime I say that christianity is full of beans I am told that I do not understand it and that I am incapable of saying that because I am not an expert in it.
- Kirshar0
don't worry dobs, most Christians aren't experts in Christianity either..........
