I missed that completely.
In 6th grade, I actually spelled "Spelling" wrong on my Spelling book.
What made it worse, is that I never got a word wrong the entire year during our tests...
My teacher noticed it one day, thought it was hilarious. She assumed I did it is a joke as, well, my whole life has been consumed with my insatiable thirst to make others laugh no matter how much I fail.
... I looked blankly at "Speeling." And while attempting to recover quickly went, "Haha yea, I've been waiting for someone to pick up on that."
She really thought it was a hoot, haha.

Poor spelling can lower the quality of work like nothing else, I think. We've got a PR guy at my old job who writes like he's in high school. I've had my wife edit his work on several occasions. That's sad.

I sound worse in real life, trust me. The other day I couldn't get through the word "aristocracy" without stuttering. I finally said it semi-correctly after about 8 tries, and I was embarrassed about having a discussion with some people in my class after that.
