outsourced a print job for mix campaign.
I did web work. revised all comps' copy throughout. did agree on payment to outsource print job beforehand.
I get a mail from client:
"Mispells throughout printing job"
omg...
What do designers learn at school these days?
surelyt not how to write.
I know this is not the place but FUCK what do people learn in school these days?
I graduated because I knew how to write in my own language without error, and could write in english and french at 90%. WTF is going on?

Man even if you outsourced that shit you should have checked the test print before they got printed....

I confess I am a grammar & spelling nazi.
But not to the extent that I will randomly point out mistakes, unless it happens all the time. It annoys people quite effectively.
- Jaline0
and what jevad said.

i love pointing out when people use "your" instead of "you're". only because it usually annoys the shit out of them..

Spelling mistakes are one thing. Easily confused grammar is a whole different beast.
I deal with editing, proofing, revising, etc. etc. pretty much every communication piece at our law firm, especially our web content.
I've had countless arguments and head-butts against attorneys for all kinds of writing related things. Missed a few things, made mistakes, but that's life.
So, now, I have a budget to send content out to be proofread by someone who does that for her job. We have three sets of eyes review everything around here.

well
always let it proofread by someone else...
my boss always says, the more its read, the less faults are iin it.who had editorial responsibility?

(Oct 2 07, 15:31)Yes, that's pretty much common sense. Unless you read it so much that it makes you insane.
I absolutely hate proofreading things though, I will admit. Which doesn't help in school.

haha. funny. as a matter of fact I actually like proof-reading.
thing is I got into this turtle of a man that has no clue into what text is let alone a spiffy dictionaire.
ok I'll get back tomorrow.
roger and out.

The funny part is that I'm an majoring in Mass Communication and English, haha.

^ minus the "an"

Haha, that was almost too perfect.

omg...

Back in Shakespeare's time, they didn't have standard ways of spelling words. So you couldn't really make spelling mistakes.
Also, I've heard say Hemingway was a poor speller.
Good shot, though.

thanks jal and flav for your input.

Hahah, I'm sorry Witt. I meant "almost too perfect" in Jaline's post about being an English Major than using -an, before a non-vowel (or a -u).
...
Your situation does kind of blow, haha. Bad spelling is kind of atrocious, you should be able to hit up your outsourcing on that.
- ********0
Ok I've found a way to balance this people. ty.
- Jaline0
I did find it odd that Witt said, "roger and out".
...
flavor, I used "an" because I had another sentence in there I deleted, heh.

I always have that problem on here in the PVN because I usually type a lot and switch things up quickly and end up re-reading afterwards wondering what the hell happened.
