Anyone else been watching this? Pretty low-key compared to something like Lost or Heroes, but the writing is really good and the attention to detail in recreating the 1950s/60s world is impressive. Funny part is, the early ad agency world seems strangely familiar...missed deadlines, bitchy clients, etc.

Wanted to watch this series from the beginning but missed the first ep and never tried to follow.
Title was done by Imaginary Forces though...

actually the 60s were the mid life of advertising in the US. there were 34 ad agencies during the civil war.

SPOILER!
Don Draper is going to commit suicide! His whole life revolves around this fake images he's built up around himself, and he has been thriving off of empty excess. Even the opening credits depict "falling from grace," as a business plummets from a skyscraper.
Honestly, all of the show's drama is so vapid anyway. It would take something that drastic to make for a meaningful finale.
Unfortunately, I heard it got signed for another two seasons though. I think this is the kind of show that could have ended after two or three seasons.

Oh FFS if you don't like it don't watch it. No one is forcing you.
I did wonder about the jumping off the building thing, but that would be pretty weird if they called out the ending of the entire series at the beginning of every show.

love the show, although am wondering where it is headed. actually, I secretly love the madmen characters on twitter, that come from goodness knows where. I confess to a real frisson of a thrill when I saw "don_draper is following you on twitter"... I just wish there was a joan for me to follow...

Awesome show! All the way around from the theme by RJD2 to the acting and writing. HBO are fools for passing on it.

Wow, had no idea RJD2 did the title credit score. Nice.

Apparently there are several articles including one that I just read in the NY Times regarding Mad Men's use of fonts in the show title and credits that where not even created in the 60's or 70's.

Didn't they use Arial in the opening sequence?
