I don't know why I need an invite, seems I can troll around quite freely... mind you I'm still not sure what the point of it is though nor what it is I am looking at... nor why I find the need to look at anything else over the remainder of my life, I reckon I've seen enough...

I kinda got an idea but wanted to make sure... believe me I'll be all up this mutha in no time Rand...

for me it's a simple way of finding and saving images to constantly remind me of how shitty I am

mike, the only point of signing up is you can save particular images under your own username

I still don't see the point of de.lic.ious, have no use for flickr, get frustrated by last.fm and still buy books... daft eh?

heh, I feel where you're coming from, Neue (I do, I really do), but this is the only flavour of 'social network' site I've ever really been after - just somewhere to dump and cross-pollinate my randomly found images.
Trouble is, now I have somewhere, I'm struck by ..er.. "browser's cramp".

It's quite interesting seeing the difference between people's submitted images and the ones they simply like.
My stuff, for instance, tends to be graphically useless - interesting things to look at, but not in any way useful as inspiration for design work.

del.icio.us: never liked it until last year when I was frustrated with the lack of features available for bookmarking in normal browsers. Plus, I had so many sub-menus that it was getting too full and cluttered, particularly whenever I wanted to find a link. So I went to del.icio.us and now I have tons of links there.
Whenever I see a site that I like I tag and save it right away. That way I have a useful tool for finding my favourite links or whatever is relevant for a project that I'm working on. And it's easy to search as well. Other people can look for stuff in there.
Flickr: just used for my photos, particularly the best selection out of ads I like and concerts that I've been to. Not very useful to me otherwise. One day when I start taking more photos it may come in handy.
Last.fm: I just sync it with my iPod and all my music statistics are automatically uploaded online. It's fun.
Those are actually the main ones I use, along with LiveJournal. I'm thinking about FFFFound as well, but there's no special point about it.

It's like "the art of getting up" I reckon, feeling popular/almost famous by the amount of times someone views the images you have ffffound and ssssaved, maybe a sense of service to society, like if I don't find and save these images, ffffs who will?
You kids run on ahead, I'll be the guy at the back of the internet, wondering what's happened and being satisfied with my narrow slice of the monunicleus...

you're kind of right. I actually caught myself initially worrying about the images I was putting up and if someone else would like them. Then I slapped myself and decided that I would put up images that I like. for myself.

heh, I'm still trying to work out what the best way to interact with it is - the way I see it, provide too many submissions and you effectively undermine the quality of your own selection.
This is why I was wondering about the thematics - should I stick to one and position my page as a specialist resource - or go for the multitude and hope that, somehow, there is still a relevant cohesion, useful for others?
Questions, questions - so many pointless, unanswerable questions. No Googling out of them, either.

no porn?

do something fun with it, like only collect jpegs for a month with the tag 'tuesday' in it, like making mixtapes with only using track no. 12's from various albums...
I'd watch that show...

My girlfriends 70 year-old father and I fixed my washing machine today... everything that surrounded the whole purpose of the day was a mix of pure hilarity and mind-blowing brilliance...
