to me it is nothing more than a visual bookmarking system.
i signed up for delicious once, but it's too much, and doesn't really add much value to me old bookmarks, so that i left..
flickr is a nice way of storing your better photos.

everybody wants to be their own curator and have the best collection.. I get it...
Just set in my own ways of keeping archives, generally by traditional bookmarking, saving images to my desktop or taking a screen capture and organizing folders and print-catalogues, but you know, I make a killing these days and can afford such high-end solutions...
that's just how I roll..
but I'm genuinely glad these channels exist for the commoners to be able to enjoy all the other finery generally only open to a privy few..

neue, i think it's different.
it's not bookmarking the image.
the image can be removed or moved to another directory when you bookmark it, while FFFFOUND! actually copies the image physically to their own server, which leaves us with the question, who pays their hosting?

You're right though...things get lost. I have to organize my del.icio.us bookmarks over again, even though they all have tags.
