I hate it. But how many out there have some sort of time tracking system to track which projects you are working and for how long each day/week?
How many out there DON'T have to track their time?

I use an Excel doc with date, job number, descript of tasks, and time spent.
Don't mind tracking time since that is how I get paid.

I use iCal, quick and easy, then write a lil note of what I worked on in the programme.
Otherwsie, its written on a pieace of paper then added in to ical.
Add all of it up during the week and bill out. Easy cop and past stuff really.

I use Billings... run the time thru their clock and also use for invoicing.
here at work we use something called On The Job. simple little app.

I use iCal when freelancing as well.
Does anyone not track time? Like a project is agreed to a flat rate at the beginning?

we use creative manager pro @ the studio.
but for freelance, i quote a timeline estimate, which includes a round or two revisions, and i sneek in the beer expenses.i know this is wrong, but for freelance, i dont do contracts and only work for clients i have a good feeling about. so incase they are fucks, i can eject and eat the loss, but also eject the stress.
been a good formula. i usually overshoot my hourly estimate, but dont jam the client cause half the time im working, im drinking and playing with the pooch or rokken like dokken

I use Billings. It's really good for time tracking. It has a timer that sits in your tray with play/pause buttons - very convenient!. And you can do invoices (however, customizing them is a pain in the ass). Plus, gives you all sorts of reports. Also, you can easily add discounts, submit payments and retainers.
As far as time tracking, this is the best in my opinion. However, it's not that great for bookkeeping in general... nothing like quick books. You can compare it to basecamp in a way... doesn't have ALL features, but is very easy and nice.
I don't know of a perfect app that allows you to do all things that a freelancer needs, especially if he works with sub contractors. One day someone must do it.

I use Studiometry.. regardless of whether it's a per hour or flat rate project. It comes in handy tracking flat fee project times to check against time spent vs estimated.
