min wage hike: bad... education should be pushed instead of encouraging people to continue on the path of living up to their minimum...
... minimum wage is NOT MEANT to be lived off of... the majority of people on min. wage are uneducated... hiking the min wage won't improve their lives at all, dude (it won't be enough money to do much with after taxes etc)... people need to feel empowered to help themselves and get off that 'minimum' income.
Elaborate on the taxpayer subsidies to companies as to what you feel is good about that...
... cuz part of that bill included taxing the oil companies for money to study new power sources... and I absolutely disagree with that too... regardless of how 'annoyed' some people are with the oil industry... heaping heavy taxes on them will only increase our prices at the pump... so no... DON'T! :)

- even if the U.S. found a way to get off of oil... do you really think allllllll the gas-driven devices would go away 'that' fast? I agree though that this dependency needs to go... it's just going to take a looooong time for this to occur - lots of patience

To live off of?... that's impossible, man... not to mention all the part-time work that's out there... some jobs aren't even available in full time positions...
Minimum Wage jobs aren't meant to be life-sustaining... that's just how it goes, man. You think a kid working in a drive-thru is worth more than $7/hour?...

Promote education... both in public forms... but also teach people... HOW TO LEARN... so they can keep up. I mean... I have to keep up everytime the software in our biz changes... and that costs me time and money... aka... education myself. If I didn't do it... I'd fail in this industry.. right?

pony, your opinions seem to support the system that has caused the problems.
people deserve education because they should be able to communicate and coexist equally amongst the others of their land
it should easy to acquire health care because in all actuality we know the doctors get kickbacks on the referral and bleeding the less fortunate dry while fat cats get fatter. site one example as to why i need to pay a doctor to write me a prescription that i have to pay for as well for simple antibiotics, it perpetuates the money going in to "healthcare"
if taking advantage of the lowest common denominator is a free enough market for you, i will need to disagree.
oil dependency should be halted for the pure fact that if an intelligent being is able to overview this planet in the future as our archaeologists do, the time humans ruled will be referred to as the filth layer
and yeah, that ipod that prevents you from copying your music back to your hard drive without a third party app, well apple does everything they can with each "update" to see to it the functionality is lost, therefore stifling other companies merely to appease the RIAA

do not blame the employee at mcdonalds that executives have precise calculations of retaining him for 4.1 months, it is their goal to demean him while holding him at his position because it works for their bottom dollar never having to give raises or offer health care options to "employees"
