so they can rip you off

Because everyone involved with Mercedes-Benz and everything related to Mercedes-Benz is scum of the f-ing earth pretending to have some sort of credibility for having built nice cars in the 70s and 80s. They should all be lined up and get a proper kick in the head the whole lot of them.

jox, just calm down.

I have so many stories to tell you about my MB ownership, it's not even funny.
I even got served a court date the other day involving an incident that happened at a MB dealer....

how much do they charge for rust proofing?
- madirish0
they do not charge.
they do not offer it.
- Llyod0
how can they not include it? that's screwy.
- jox0
They're not charging anything per se, they do have a 10 year rust warranty, but when you show up with a 2 year old car having rust every-f-ing-where, they pull an excuse along the lines of "Ohh.. so you have been listening to Power 105 for the past two weeks - yeah, see here... that's in the fine print, no rock stations. Sorry dude!"
Or when you're in for any other warranty repair - such as my entire headlamp in my 05 E500 collecting water like the freakin' Hoover dam whenever it was foggy, agreed to replace it under warranty. When I came to pick it up, they handed me a 4 grand bill. "What do you mean warranty? You wanted a new one, right?"
