that is so awesome i could kiss you jens.
i love crawlers. my first auto ever was a 1965 CJ5 (first civilian-issue Jeep made) that i helped my father restore to factory spec when i was 14-16. it is the same jeep his father bought new in 1965.
i 'wheeled that thing weekly for 3 years at this crazy HOV park. basically, it would rule any terrain over all my friends toyotas and huge trucks, save the ultimate designed crawler.
it still sits in one of his garages.

what do you currently have jox?
- jox0
^ That was actually referring to my fiancee's Q7. I got an S8 and a 997 S vert.
- vwsung18t0
D3 S8?
- madirish0
D2s can be had for so inexpensive now. pretty nutty. too bad the suspension on them sucks in comparison to the D3. they are fun to drive though for sure...
- jox0
Yup, a D3.
Loving the D2 as well though, I used to have a 6-spd. (My father AND grandfather each have 6-spd D2s still, haha)

(Oct 17 07, 05:03)i never care if the stock suspension doesn't handle that well as long as there is the aftermarket.

(Oct 17 07, 05:24)that is the very issue- it is not the springs and shocks that are of concern, but the way these hang from the chassis. the D3 is compeltly overhaulded and MUCH more responsive/tunable.
