*&^%$!
A month ago I get this freelance client sent to me by a cousin who did some landscaping work for her.
She wants me to build a site.
I put in a bid based on a few variables, one being she says there will be about 300 photos.
I give her a price and she squawks at it.
I say I can lower the price if we cut down the photos to around 100.
I give her the new proposal and she agrees to the terms yesterday.
I get an email today saying "It looks like we'll have about 308 photos and we won't be able to take any out. Hope this is ok"
F*CK!
I had a bad feeling this project was going to be a pain in the ass.
She made me drop my price by a grand cause it was too much and I find out she paid 150k for her landscaping.
I don't fucking get it.
Should I drop her?
I really can't do this site for that price with that many photos. It will take too much damn time.
F*CK.

kona, seriously... drop that. If you don't need it, don't do it.
- TheBlueOne0
She wants all the pics in a gallery or something?
- e-pill0
yes kOna drop her a doodie in a box and send it to her.
- TheBlueOne0
..and yeah, just tell her:
"The original quote was for 100 pics. i will do it with that amount at the quoted price. Otherwise I don't have the time to devote to your project to bring it in at an acceptable quality in a reasonable period of time and it's best for you to find someone who can do that for you correctly if you insist on using 300 pics."
Or something like that.

drop her ass!! I hate those 'clients'
In second thought, bend her like a pretzel and get doooouuuwn there to the bottom of her vagina, (IMPORTANT: don't even buy her some Long John Silver schrimp)
She'll be craaayze and become yo slave. Sha gotz no defense against the penis power.

morilla: i don't need it but i could use it. i gotta get some teeth work done tomorrow and the ins is only going to cover 60 some percent. i don't need it but...
theblueone: yes a gallery of sorts but she's sending me raw files i'll have to color correct, crop, edit and shit. it's not really the gallery, it's that she made me drop my price so I lowered her pic # to get the bid hours into her range, she agrees then the next day wants me to do 300 pics again for a grand less. It's principal.

Yikes, sounds awful.

I say take the job, and since she likes her landscape so much... take a picture of a festering mulch pile and make it her homepage.
- morilla0
stiil on priciple alone, she is treating you like a flea market vendor and trying to barter with you like a fish peddler.
Drop her.
- madirish0
drop it immediately.
1. she is 'family' in not so many terms, do not work with your family- it can lead to uneeded angst.
2. she is bait and switching and presenting you with obsticles right-away; not a good social behavior sign
3. she is 'white knuckling'; she is stretched in multiple ways from the beginning like on a roller coaster and will most likely lead you down several more poor paths.
- TheBlueOne0
subcontract it out to a guy in India...

(Apr 26 07, 12:40)'brilliant! I gotta call my cousin first though to get some more info.
If they were a good client of his and they got along great I'll drop the above. If he says she was a pain and they'll never work with her again I might just tell her "Basically, with this number of photos what it all comes down to is go fuck yourself."
- CALLES0
tell her to talk to the job placement office in a local art school... theres some kids out there hungry for this kinda shit. not us respectable professionals
*burps... picks nose... sticks bugger under desk and keeps looking at porn
- TheBlueOne0
no, really. Drop it. The money you'll be making won't be paying for the teeth it'd be paying for the aggravation and the lesson, and you're experienced enough to not have to pay to educate yourself again on how not to work for a bad client.
Walk.
- nocomply0
you are going to hate that project and all the time you spend working on it unless you renegotiate the contract somehow.
you already have a full-time job right? its just not worth it unless you rework the deal.
she's completely aware she's trying to pull a fast on on you. renegotiate or drop it I say!
- JesseJensen0
Dealing with that sounds like a nightmare. Good luck.
- TheBlueOne0
KoNa,
You gotta ask yourself - are you a samurai or are you a punk.
The difference is if you say "fuck you" before or after you hang up the phone.
:)

DROP.
Jokes aside.
- madirish0
oh, and go to Peru for the dental work. seriously.
i will be going back the minute i need major dental work done. it is brillian there...... and about 1/10 the price.
- k0na_an0k0
tasty: lol!!!
morilla: yeah she is. I'm leaning towards dropping her.
madirish: Very well put. Thanks a lot for the insight. You hit the nail on the head.
TheBlueOne: HAHA! India... why didn't I think of that?
