Stolen Car

Friday night my jeep was stolen out of my driveway. I call the police to get a police report. The cop leaves and said if it comes up, he'll let me know. I get on my motorcycle to go for a cruise. I notice my jeep is parked about 2 blocks from my house as I'm cruising around. I stop to look at it and the door lock was jammed open with a screwdriver and the whole steering column was ripped off. The lady that lives at the house that it was parked in front of said that it showed up after noon that next day, but she didn't actually see who dropped it off. Pretty random. I don't understand why someone would take the time to steal it and then drop it off the next day at noon 2 blocks away.

I did that once when I was like 17, drove it like 6 blocks and dumped it. regret it now, but you can't undo misspent youth.

sounds like "joyride" fo shó!...happened to me many moons ago too.
we come out of a party to "reload" at my car: we had beer, a boombox, smokes and who knows what!.. a definite party on wheels/jackpot/joyride guaranteed type o car.. it took me a couple minutes to realize what was really happening!! what a reality check! LOL!we walked from the party to the road and hitched a ride.
what a joy that was..!
a week later, we found it with the guts all tore up..it sucked. technically my moms car...ooops!*laughing now... not then. : p

Probably was a joy ride, but I would steal a much cooler car for a joy ride...not a Jeep. There was a porsche parked right next to it and I don't think it even has an alarm on it.

my dad told me once that in the 60s his car used to get stolen a lot, so they used to just leave the keys in it and stuck a note to the dash saying 'please return after use'.
it used to go for days then just turn up again!
