... all GREAT TRACKS... and I had NO clue that Daft Punk sampled this much...
... I'm still in awe of them though - they fall in that 'genius steals' category as apposed to 'shit copies'.

all their work is sample-heavy, its just that they use very rare and unheard gems, rip them up and package them as contemporary dance in a daft-punk stylee.
i knew their stuff was sampleheavy already but i dont mind what they do for the above reasons.
i make dancey stuff too and some of it uses samples but i try to find rare stuff like DP do.the thing that annoys me so much is when you get music from the likes of Mylo. he takes music that is already highly commercial so any form of remix to this music is a guaranteed hit - or that stuff you hear in the charts - friggin phill collins songs with dancey beats and some filtered synth on top of it. i mean COME ON! THAT IS JUST TAKING THE PISS!!
mind you, if chavs and tarts like dancing to that sort of music in their cheesey clubs then thats what they are going to dance to, eh?have you ever listened to Mylo's stuff and notice how much structures and ideas he's ripped off from the likes of Daft Punk?

They should CLEARLY credit and pay their source for the usage. The Robot Rock one, wow, they just sampled and looped the hook...

I'm pretty sure Daft Punk pays everyone rather well for the samples they use.
I have no problem taking someone else's work, get inspired... then revamp and show something diff (as long as you pay the originator and pay homage to the originator)...
... ESPECIALLY the way daft punk does it. Each album tells a story to me - the tracks blend together etc...
... they take what's already out there and just revamp it into something new and beautiful - they still have my respect.
It's funny - I took all the tracks from the Blog... played them all back to back... makes for a GREAT mix. :)

eh... I think you're being a bit critical because of the one track. :)
How many other 'tracks' have gone down in history as 'great' that have had samples of 'lost gems' in them... or built completely off an old riff? Plenty! right? :)
The thing is w/Daft Punk - they build something rather 'complete' in the end... even if it is a bunch of old parts tacked together... I like it. :)

I think thats why the blogger put those tracks up-front... they're def. the most recognized tracks... the tracks toward the bottom - you have to 'squint to see them'. :)
