i run XP on my macbook pro a decent amount and never ran into any problems.
- k0na_an0k0
And don't worry at all about installing XP on the Mac if you get it. 3 of us here all have the 15" MacBook Pros running XP, although I've only booted XP once on mine. So far it's run flawless on our machines.
The intern behind me was 100% a pc guy until we got him the MBP, he's used XP on it quite a bit for whatever reason but I think he's coming to the dark side using XP less and less.

lol, yeah, you might be right Kona. Maybe it's been so long since I bought a machine (5 years) that I'm looking for some sort of dream machine.
I'll check out those links and put a call into NASA. Thanks for the tip.

Dude, if you can not customize the XPS M1710 on the far right to your specs you might want to go to NASA and purchase one of their super-melt-your-face-off with speed computers.

And loaded to the gills this MBP only tops out at 3500 bucks and will smoke the shit out of the XPS.

You have severe supercompuer issues.

hey folks, thanks for the replies.
Studdernine you can bite me.
To everyone else . . . I've checked out Alienware but can't stand the gay cases. I'm wary of buying a mac and installing XP or Visita because it just seems like I would run into problems.
I don't find that even the top-shelf DELL's are pimped out enough for what I want.
I wish there was a company that would sell laptops that looked like macs, had the guts of a PC and were maxxed out as far as you can go as far as power is concerned.
Maybe I'll get someone to build a custom machine for me.
I will check out the Lenovo Thinkpad though.
Thanks for the help folks.

we have this for presenting off at work.

o yah here is the link to their engineer blog about their spill resistant keyboard.
- JSK0
very true.
i have mac and think pad. they are both nice.
but i would prefer thinkpad since it lasts longer and its durable as hell.
o did i mention that it has spill resistant keyborad? when you spill water on the keyboard, it drains out at the bottom?
- enjine0
true, they don't market them as consumer machines like dell, or anything barfed out at best buy.
the components in those laptops are all top of the line, as secure as you can get, and durable to boot.
you'll notice that most of the speakers at conferences (who don't have macs) pretty much all rock the thinkpad.
it's not cheap, but if you're looking for quality, it's worth checking out.

i didn't know that IBM was still making consumer machines. Interesting.

(Mar 8 07, 19:05)its Lenovo now. Same product just different name.
also. they were never really for consumers, mainly for business.

It's a Dell, of course, but I love my M90. Superb Quadro graphics, etc.
*Note: this is a 3D/video editing machine, not a game machine
