the perfect example of someone believing their own hype.
- josimarX0
well, actually, to be fair, it's the hype other people have created over build really... but he's still believing it enough to produce this patronising nonsense.

I really like a lot of build's work and I do think that this project has merit. He has the balls to do elegantly simple ideas, like the timecode series and present them as desirable. You have to commend that.
If I'm being truly critical of the scale series I'd make a few points, having had the day to think about them:
1) I'd like to see more of a meaningful relationship between the objects featured:
the sun, earth, you can argue a carbon atom as most lifeforms on earth are made up of it. But then the penny is tenuous, even more so the death star.I love posters that show the planets of the solars sytem to scale like this:
where the sun is so big that it doesn't even fit on.
2) that brings me to scale. The scales are all determined to make the cirlce the same size on each poster which make sense visually but gives some funny scales.
I'd like to see a poster that tackles the difficult problem of showing all the 5 objects to one scale. Surely a more challenging brief.3) In general I'd like it if the posters were stand alone pieces that also had some element of intereactivity between them so the whole was more than the sum of the parts.
If you're doing something this minimal every element has to be perfect.

Try not to be a man of success, but rather to be a man of value.

nice response baskerville,
good to read a reaction that has had some thought put into it, rather than mindless dribble from someone who has maybe taken a 10 second scan of the work and responded "boring" or "they are just circles" or whatever else,
there is a concept behind the posters, I think that fact eludes of lot of people. I have a lot more respect for this kind of work, done for himself and noone else.

Blam at Blanka - "Alright, Mike. Bit embarrassing and that but er, we're struggling a little so far this year. Wondered if you could knock up some posters?
Nothing too envolved, something simple that we can print on nice stock and flog to your loyal Build following..."Mr Place - "Circles."
Blam at Blanka - "Circles?"
Mr Place - "Yeah, gimme 10mins and I'll get them over to you!"
Blam at Blanka - "Michael, you're a godsend. How does 70/30 sound to you?"
Mr Place - "Throw in some Kettle Chips and it's a deal"
- Jaline0
I'm wary of Blanka products. Like those soccer shirts or whatever.

Those shirts were another good idea, but I thought executed poorly.
